Q: can my laptop run windows 7 (i need compatible drivers)

hello there,

i really need to know if there are available drivers for hp compaq nx9110 that are compatible with windows 7? i've tried a couple of things to no avail.

Preferred Solution: can my laptop run windows 7 (i need compatible drivers)

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A:Are drivers of windows 8.1 laptop compatible with windows 7?

Every Windows version has its own drivers.. I mean win8.1 drivers are different from win7 drivers.

Try Windows update inside Windows 7,
Maybe you are lucky and Os finds the right drivers.

I'm trying to play minecraft and other games but they don't load or display correctly.

Computer: Sony Vaio VGN-CR31Z

All the drivers I download aren't compatible.

Before Win 8 everything worked fine with Intel Centrino.
But Windows Basic Display Adapter is horrible and the only compatible.
Does anyone have any drivers that would work? Everything I've downloaded is not compatible.
Even the Sony Europe website doesn't have the correct drivers, it just makes my resolution weird.
Also my PC needs a driver with OpenGL.. for MC.

Thanks :'D

According to my quick Google search, your laptop has the ATi Radeon X2300 graphics card. There are some threads in this forum section about legacy drivers that MIGHT work with this card. You should check them out.

Hi all,

I have just purchased a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ140E from a friend which had vista on it. I was initially just going to do a system wipe for him and give it back from him to sell, then he told me he was only looking to get a hundered out of it >> MINE.

This laptop will replace my netbook with the annoyingly slow hyperthreaded 1.6. Only problem is they don't supply Windows 7 drivers, only Vista.. and only 32-bit. I have attached a full specification sheet from Piriform's Speccy, and a device manager screenshot with what I don't think Windows 7 will pick up automatically expanded.

A:Help finding compatible drivers for laptop with only vista supplied

If you still have Vista on it, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

The Win7 installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Enable hardware driver auto-updating to assure this: Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware

Any drivers then missing in Device manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for computer model - Vista drivers will work ok - or for the Device itself.

You qualify for Upgrade version with Vista OEM, but I'd wipe the HD to get the cleanest possible install: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

If you install to wiped HD, the installer will issue a 100mb System Reserved boot partition which conveniently places the Repair Console (normally only on the DVD or Repair CD) on the F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu. So I would choose Custom Install and then Drive Options to partition as you wish and format: Clean Install Windows 7

Leave the Product key blank during install if you wipe the HD, then afterwards do the quick registry workaround given in this tutorial to allow activation with upgrade version key: Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

Install updates and then programs slowly over time to gauge performance after each. Don't let any programs write themselves into msconfig>Startup as they slow startup, become freeloaders on your RAM/CPU and can spy on you. I only allow AV and gadgets. Startup Programs - Change

Use a lightweight free AV like MS ... Read more

After updating my wife's old Dell E4300 with the new Windows 10 creators update, two drivers are shown as missing in the Device Manager. There are:
Device description: Base System DeviceDevice instance path: PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_024D1028&REV_12\4&13C294F3&0&0AF0
Device description: Broadcom USHDevice instance path: USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00\6&66DE6C9&0&0000
No search for the drivers gave any result. The laptop is working though. With the above information I am unable to find matching drivers, even via the Dell support site (using the Service Tag: BNXXB4J). There is no clear way of mapping the reported missing drivers with anything on the Dell support site, or at least I was unable to do so.
Where do I find the correct drivers?

OK so i had been through the whole beta driver scenario with amd's latest windows 8 drivers and it resulted in bsod's...which led me to download and install the stable but old drivers which led to my games having fps drops ,which i think is related to the drivers because with the beta drivers i was getting good fps's , not so much with the stable one's , anyways the question is should i go back to windows 7 because many people including myself are having compatibility issues with windows 8,windows 8.1 when it comes to amd's beta drivers( or just their drivers in general), while the vast majority are having no problems with their windows 7.

Hi all,

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 (32 bit), but now my Lexmark All-In-One X74-X75 printer drivers aren't compatible... well, kind of.

When I first reinstalled the drivers after the upgrade, I was able to use the scan facility of the printer, and print jobs could queue up for printing, but they would not print. When I attempted to update drivers, uninstall/reinstall, etc, I was told the installation was unsuccessful.

I could not find any drivers for my model printer on the Lexmark site, but I was hoping someone out there may have some tips on how I can get around this problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I downgraded the Windows OS from Vista to XP for my friend since the Vista was too hard for him to figure out. However, after downgrading the
OS, I also 'lost' the sound drivers. I tried to download the Realtek AC'97
sound drivers, but got the message that Realtek's drivers were not compliant with Microsoft's 'vendor' policies, so I wasn't able to complete
the download. Anyway, now I need to download another sound driver that is compliant with Microsoft's vendor policies. Does anyone know of such drivers? I'm meeting my friend again on Thursday of this week, and I'd like to have the computer working for him by then. Thanks!

I have just upgraded to Windows 8 Pro from the Consumer Preview. I am using a Virgin Media supplied Netgear WNDA3200 network adapter to connect to a Virign Media Superhub, but the drivers for the adapter don't seem to work with the release version of Win8. I had the same issue with the CP of Win8, but was able to resolve it by downloading the 1.2 version of the WNDA3100 driver from the Netgear website. I have tried this and all the other WNDA drivers including the windows 8 beta ones, but the adapter still isn't working.

It seems odd to me that it would work in the CP, but not in the full release version of Windows 8.

If anyone has any ideas as how to go about solving this issue, they would be much appreciated.

After much frustration, I figured out the issue. It turns out that the adapter had defaulted to running one of microsoft's drivers, which was not working correctly. To get around this, you need to make sure you already have the driver installed, then search for "Device Manager" in settings (without quotes), and open Device Manager. Once it's open, sroll down to Network Adapters, and expand that. Then double click on the adapter. It should open a small window. Navigate to the 'Driver' tab, and select 'Update driver'.

From there, go to 'Browse my computer for driver software', click 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer', and click the 'Have Disk' option. Browse to where the driver is installed (usually under ProgramFiles(x86)\Ne... Read more

Hey all, I recently installed an SSD in my old y580 laptop and reinstalled windows 10 but windows is registering the touchpad as a mouse plugged into the PS/2 port. As such, the touchpad inputs are far from optimized and no multi-finger gestures are being recognized (including scrolling  ). The previous HDD recently died but definitely used elan/synaptics drivers. I've had this problem occur on other Lenovo laptops and I've seen others posting about it on here, but never for the y580 and I've never been able to solve it. I've downloaded all of the touchpad drivers on the support page for my serial number but none of them go up to windows 10 and all of them result in an error message that reads that the Realtek Bluetooth Suite isn't compatible with this version of windows. I've also downloaded 15-20 different drivers for windows 10 elan/synaptics touchpads from varying newer lenovo laptops but none of them recognize my touchpad either. Any help would be super appreciated.

After initially working fine on Windows 7 64-bit for several months my old HP Laserjet 1100 stopped working all of a sudden 3 months ago for good. Since then I have been trying various methods to get it up and running again & getting nowhere. It seems to be a common theme that people's old 1100 seems to work fine for the first few months & then it stops being able to print for no apparent reason.

Then earlier today I found a lone thread from a very old forum where someone with the same issue figured out that his 1100 stopped working just after a particular Windows Update (he didn't specify the offending update). Apparently he deleted all the updates from that day & behold! He got his printer to work again!!

This is the only person I have found out there who seems to have genuinely solved this problem. After upgrading to Windows 10 last year, I have had numerous problems with my computer, and am now wondering if the G570 is not compatible with Windows 10.  My computer now does not allow updates from Microsoft, nor does File History work any longer.  I loved Windows 8.1, but I have read that it is too late to go back to it now.  Does anyone have a solution?Betty

A:G570 Laptop - Is it not compatible with Windows 10????

Hi BettyK,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
G570 is not included among the listed machines tested for Windows 10 so drivers intended for the laptop may not work as expected with them.
You can however try using the factory reset recovery once you backed up your files back to the original image by turning off the machine and pressing the One Key Rescue button next to the power to turn on.
Novo menu would offer system recovery OKR (chapter 3) from initial backup to restore it back as long as the partition is still intact and no changes has been made.

Hope this helps answer your query.

I need to download and install drivers to a Latitude E6430 Windows 7 64-bit laptop without anykind of network/modem/wireless drivers. However, when I go to download drivers from the website, it basically says the drivers will (A) automatically install and (B) when I tried to download anyway hoping I could just move them with my external hard drive it basically downloaded a Dell System Detect Launcher. How do I get the drivers piecemeal, put them on my external hard drive, and then install them on my offline Dell Laptop?

I plan to buy a new notebook with pre-installed Windows 8

I don't want to use Windows 8 but use Windows 7 instead.

Can I remove Windows 8, then install Windows 7 and use the drivers from Windows 8?

A:Are Win7 drivers compatible with those of Win 8 ?

Maybe, if they list windows 7 drivers I would use them. I've installed Windows 7 and Windows 8 on my two desktop PC's that have ASUS motherboards and a lot of the drivers are the same for Windows 7 and 8. They will say compatible with Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 x64 in the description and you will get the exact same download regardless of which OS you select. My new laptop came with Windows 8 but also lists Windows 7 drivers in its downloads. Before you buy just go to the support page for the one you plan to buy and see if there are Windows 7 drivers available for it. If they are dedicated Windows 8 drivers they may not install, you'll get a this OS not supported or something similar message. You could also Google that model to see if anyone tried the OS swap and ran into problems.

A:Are there any WDDM compatible drivers out there..

If there is no driver can I just install a different graphics adapter or will I need a new card?

No you cannot install a new card as it is a laptop and the GPU is integrated into the CPU. As far as the driver goes the only one that will work with it at this time is the one available from Acer,

Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / Aspire / Aspire 5253

as the Fusion CPU/GPU isn't supported in the reference AMD drivers.

P.S. While you're at it you haven't installed the audio driver yet either. Get it from the above link as well.

I used a free trial of "Driver Whiz" but will not find any new drivers for my computer too.

Does that mean that my computer will not work properly on Win7? Does that mean that it would be better to install XP again?

My computer is a Asus A5e.
Thanks for any insights on this.

Please provide any known compatible drivers and matched manufacturers or OEM suppliers to find equivalent drivers for Windows 7 (32 and 64 bits) and for Vista (32 and 64 bits).

1. Lexmark e210 (Samsung ML-1200 Series). Tested and Working in Windows 7 x64
(found that one on one of your posts)

I am personally looking for a x64 driver (windows 7) for a CANON ImageClass D861 (or D800).

Any other OEM selling that printer with a different name? They may have the driver!

Yes, some folks are still in the Dark Ages using dial-up (don't get me started on the Verizon monopoly around these parts) . . .

A friend purchased a new Compaq Presario pc that only has an ethernet "connector" - they have nothing but dial-up available. So we scavenger-ed (technical term) their modem from their old computer and installed it. It SAYS it's downloading the drivers from the disc that came with the modem . . . HOWEVER, nothing really downloads. and the computer does not recognize the modem. I suspect the drivers and Vista don't like each other . . . Where can I go to download drivers that will work with a Smart Link 56k modem and the Windows Vista-crap OS? They get a free Windows 7 upgrade later this month, but need to be able to get online to upgrade . . .

Not interested in any sites that want to invade my system and "fix" my drivers . . . Just want to download a few drivers, burn them to a cd, and take them to the new Compaq.

Many thanks . . .

here's the link for the drivers http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MODEM/Smart-Link/
try using a memory stick to transfer the setup program.easier than burning them

Hi everyone I have a Gateway Mx7118 laptop and it doesn't seem the Windows 7 recognizes the videocard. I downloaded and installed Catalyst suite from ATI's website but the system still reverts back to 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". Can someone tell me if there are drivers compatible with this system and any extra steps to replace the default graphics adapter?

A:Gateway MX7118 any compatible drivers?

iztel, welcome to the forums.

The reason that the Catalyst suite didn't install is there is no support in it for the chipset or video adapter in your laptop (ATI RS480M and Xpress 200M), which have both be relegated to legacy status and as such there will be no Windows 7 drivers for them. Also means that Gateway will never have anythng as they have to get the drivers from ATI.

You can try the Legacy driver from ATI,

ATI Catalyst? Legacy Display Driver

no promises it will work as you have a laptop, but it does work for the desktop products it supports quite well in Windows 7.

I have seen a few posts of people trying to get a list together of sound cards that WILL work in Win7. Surely the moderator could compile and forward this request to MS to see what they have to say? I mean, we can't all be dumb! They also can't expect us to throw away our expensive cards just because there are no drivers. Of course, it's not MS's fault that a third party manufacturer doesn't update their drivers, and we all expect Creative Labs to drop us like a hot stone once they have our cash in their greedy little paws, but there HAS to be a solution somewhere? (Solution 1: make mental note not to buy Creative Labs *anything*, and I'm basing this on experience stretching back a bit).
My sound is from an onboard chip, so I will probably have to purchase a new card just to get sound. I have tried everything: BIOS enable/disable audio, get drivers from the Fujitsu site for a SCALEO 800s (you try that one...good luck), uninstall Win7 updates, move IRQs around, allow ESCD reset in BIOS, XP compatibility mode...no luck. The chip is a Sis 7012 with ESS ES1968 Maestro-2, according to those lovely driver update applications that are all FREE until you have to put in your credit card; you know the type.
The only thing hardware manufacturers CAN design and implement properly is a cash register, because that's all they seem to want. Once you've made the purchase, they don't want anything to do with you. MS, please come to the rescue with the following:

Most of the time, the vista drivers work when no Seven ones are available. Have you tried those?

First off, my system specs:

OS: Vista Ultimate x64 w/ SP1

Processor: Intel Duo E8400
RAM: Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 800 (Currently only running on 2GB)
Mobo: ASUS Rampage Formula
Graphics: x1 VisionTek Radeon 4870 (I have another 4870 waiting to be installed)
Storage: x1 Western Digital WD6400AAKS 640GB
Case: Cooler Master RC-690
PSU: Corsair 750W
Cooling: XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm + Retention Bracket + ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound + x6 Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F 120mm Fans
DVD Drive: SAMSUNG 22X DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223F

With this setup, I keep getting BSODs and sometimes error messages like "Superfetch stopped working" or "Host processes for Windows services stopped working" before the BSODs. Memtest, chkdsk, and Prime95 have all turned up no errors, so I'm not sure what is wrong. I believe it is either driver incompatibility or general 64-bit issues.

I've installed the Marvell Ethernet Controller LAN and Soundmax drivers located on the Asus Rampage CD. I also installed the latest Vista x64 version ( of the Marvell Yukon Ethernet driver from their website, but I had to system restore to before then so I'm not sure what driver I'm running now. I've also installed version of the Intel Chipset Device Software.

As for the video card, I have installed the latest ATI Catalyst driver (8.7) but I sometimes get the error message "Catalyst Control Centre: Host application stopped working"(occasionally before BSOD).

Okay, so I'm trying to run the Sims 2 on my computer but it's telling me I don't have DirectX 9.0c compatible drivers. I don't know what kind of video card I have, so I don't know where to get these drivers. When I try to go to the Device Manager to check, it tells me that Windows cannot find mmc.exe

A:No DirectX 9.0c compatible drivers and no way to find out what I need

What pc have you got and what windows version is on it????

My desktop computer is missing drivers for a Video Controller (VGA Compatable). I believe it is built-in the motherboard since there are no video cards plugged into it. I also don't have the Driver disks, nor do I know what parts they are specifically because I think it is custom built and I didn't build it, I also don't know who built it, I just got it.

I've searched quite a bit, and I can't find the right driver. I tried Drivermax, a program I've trusted for some time for driver backup and restore, and helped me get drivers for when I forget to backup before I format, but I don't think it detects any driver for the Video Controller.

I used the following as well, but I can't seem to find the driver:

I also used PCIDatabase, a website that also helped me find a few required drivers before, but it seems that, 8086, the vendor (Intel) doesn't have a device with 29A2 as the Device ID.

I'm out of ideas, if anyone have the same Video Controller, I'd really appreciate some directions as to finding the right drivers for my Video Controller, as I cannot really do much on the Desktop Computer, gaming-wise, not even flash games. I could stream videos but I got no sound either. Hahaha.

Thank you in advance,

A:Missing drivers for video controller (VGA compatible)

you need the full name and model of your motherboard, and then all you need to do is go search it in google and go to the manufacture's website and download all the drivers you need from it, remember to choose the right OS as well
