Belkin USB Dockstation Driver installation problem

Q: Belkin USB Dockstation Driver installation problem

I just purchased a Hi -speed USB 2.0 Dockstation by Belkin. When using the install disk to install drivers I recieve the following error message
"an installation support file C:\leslie~l\locals~\temp\{EB145CEA-998F-4C9DAEF7-B4DBBD217DAF}\lsrt.dll could not be installed. Access is denied.

Can anyone help me with this problem???

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I am attempting to dock an Acer Aspire 5723Z laptop running Windows 7 64-bit into the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Dockstation Model # FSU216 which the supplier provided with the laptop as being compatible.

When the devices are connected, the (Edge10 GB19XX) monitor display switches off when I close the laptop. The screen resolution does not always readjust.

In Devices in Control Panel under Unspecified it says IEEE-1284 controller USB hub ? ?Needs troubleshooting?.
If I right click and click ?troubleshoot? it says the driver is not installed. When I click ?apply this fix? it tells me the driver was not successfully installed. If I click ?skip this fix? and then ?view solution? it says ?a solution is not available for this problem.?
When I originally attempted to install the drivers from the disk I got an error message that it did not have permission to copy a particular file. I tried to uninstall the device a number of times. Each time I went back though control panel afterwards, it asked me again whether I wanted to uninstall the device, which implied that it had not been successfully uninstalled the previous time.

Belkin claim they don?t have drivers for Windows 7 64-bit - only for Vista 32-bit.

Does anyone know a way to get these devices interoperating so that the display works properly?

If not, does anyone know of a docking station which will work OK with this laptop/OS?

Regards Keith

Wow. Except for the model number on your laptop, you and I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same docking station--the VGA support for Win7/64. I got around it by using the HDMI port on my laptop and hooked in a small HDTV I wasn't using. Does your device support HDMI? It's one way around the problem.

Also, have you been able to get your printer to work via the parallel port? Mine won't send the page to the printer.

I recently upgraded my old hand-me down computer to an AMD Athlon 1700+ with 1GB ram and a 128 meg video card. I origionally thought I would have problems dealing with the bios, but that wasn't the case.

However, when Win 98 started (yes I need to upgrade), it started the normal plug-n-play driver search for all the motherboard hardware. What the problem was when I tried to access my CD rom drive, the computer didn't recognize the drive, so I couldn't access my CD rom to install the drivers from the CD.

Here's the info I have: the hard drive and CD rom drive are all what I had before the upgrade, so there shouldn't be any problems here, the bios recognizes both the hard drive and the CD drive on startup.

All I need is to find a way to access my CD-rom drive to install the drivers and I'll be set.

Any help?

A:Win 98 driver installation problem.

You may want to try this:
1. Power down the machine
2. Insert your boot floppy
3. Power up your machine
4. Choose option #1 Startup with CDrom support---hit enter
5. At the A:\> prompt type "sys c: (put a space between sys and c)--hit enter
Computer will transfer the startup info from the floppy

When you see:
A:\>sys c:
System transferred

Simply power the machine off, remove the floppy and after a few seconds try to power up.

Hi... i've got a Intel D945GCPE Mother board with Realtek audio chipset (some HD Audio device it says). I've Installed Windows XP 2002 Professional SP1.

Problem is that the audio driver provided with the motherboard doesn't work when installed in XP. it rather doesn't install successfully and installation stops displaying an error containing text (not exactly) as HD Audio driver installation failed.

i've downloaded audio driver from intel's site "http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2838&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21"
as well but that driver shows the same behavior as well...

I’m having a problem installing a driver for my USB device(Playstation Portable). I’ve downloaded the driver from 3 different sources, plus had a friend verify it on his PC so I know for a fact that the driver works.

Is there a way to install it manually using CMD? Can Devcon install the driver? If so, please post the commands for it.

Any help is appreciated.

Not quite sure where this one was supposed to go, so if I've put it in the wrong place, I'd appreciate helping a newbie out and moving it. Thanks!
I have a compuer with windows 7 pro that doesn't seem to recognize the printer I'm trying to install (HP LaserJet P3005d). It's a local connection using a USB port, so it should install the driver automatically, but it fails to do so. I've tried to install the universal drive manually through HP's support site, but it still doesn't seem to want to recognize the driver.
The computer simply lists it in the device manager as "Generic USB Hub," but that's all it will do. I've tried to unistall it from device manager, then taken steps to install it manually, then plug it back in. Still nothing. Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone run accross this problem? I'm completely stumped here.

I am having trouble trying to install an Linksys 10/100 Ethernet USB Network Adapter.

The instructions for installation are as follows.

1. After connecting the adapter Start computer.

2. Windows will automatically detect the USB LAN Network Adaptor in your computer.

3. When the Add New Hardware Wizard screen appears insert the Driver CD into your CD rom drive and click next.

4. Select search for the best driver for your device and click next.

The mistake I made was instead of clicking next I accidently clicked cancel. That closed the driver installation process down. I re-started the computer to try the installation process again but it will not reconize the new device so I can install the driver. I have tried a several times restarting the computer but nothing happens.

Is their any way of correcting my mistake and getting the drivers installed so the adapter will work?

I just got a new computer(second hand so it doesn't have a manual and all that) and I have a widescreen monitor with it. It was working fine but after I was messing around looking it up, I somehow deleted the driver.

There were 2 drivers or whatever I remember and now on the Add or Remove programs place, there is only one left, which says: Intel[R] Pro Adapter and Drivers. Now when I go to change the resolution, there is no resolution for widescreen so it stretches.

A friend tells me that I need to install the driver(Intel(R)) because thats what my graphics card is for so I downloaded a driver(Intel[R] Graphics Media Accelerator) from the Intel website but when I go to install it, after the accept and decline part it has an error and says "one or more files that are required for installation are either missing or corrupt. Setup will exit".

What files am I missing? or is it that I just downloaded the wrong driver? If so, how do I know which driver to download and install?

The computer is Windows XP.

P.S. When I try to install Windows Media Player 11, it says that there is an error and that no updates were found. is this related in any way? Note I copied the setup onto the computer from a different one, it was downloaded directly onto the computer.

Hey ppl, Hendrich again. Before my previous ATI RAGE 128 PRO issue was fixed (Thnk You! ^^) but now I've got another one.

:dead: Yea, great, another one.

Anyways, when I try to install the driver for my card, it gives me a message saying that "Your video card does not match the driver provided by the installation" and then it closes. I want to know how I could install the driver for that card. Here is where the driver was:

Here is the page of where I could get the drivers for my ATI Card:

(I picked Windows XP - Home/Professional then I picked Legacy [discontinued] then I picked Rage 128/Rage 128 PRO)

I have Windows XP Professional SP1 Version 2002. I was thinking maybe I should remove my driver then re-install again? No? Hopefully your ideas will be better then mine.

A:ATI Rage 128 pro driver installation problem

You really running SP1 this time?

Will try gettin to the bottom of this! I'll download and look into those ATI drivers to see what the driver installation is doing/looking for and compare to what ya got (Tho driver install files aren't always the easiest thing to interpret but give it my best shot)

I need collect detailed info on your current hardware and drivers

Click to download and run devcon.exe. It prompts to extract some files. Indicate folder C:\devcon. Verify it creates C:\devcon\i386\devcon.exe
Save my attachment devcmd.txt to your Desktop
Change its filename to devcmd.bat and double click to Run it
It creates a file devcon.txt on your Desktop. Please attach it in your next post.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

To update the drivers for this device, click Update Driver. If that doesn't work, see your hardware documentation for more information.

Solution button: Update Driver

This code means that the system has not had a chance to configure the device. To resolve the problem, follow the instructions in the Device Status box. In addition, you may be able to resolve this issue by removing the device in Device Manager, and then running the Add New Hardware wizard from Control Panel.

Just the other day I went to ATI drivers site to get the newest driver for my videocard. The file name is

Windows Display Driver for ATI RADEON

According to its directions, I am to uninstall the old ATI driver, reboot, then run the setup.exe program to install the new driver. However, when I tried to uninstall the old driver through Add/Remove program, I got the message saying that old or non-ATI drivers could not be uninstalled (despite the fact that in the menu for Add/Remove, ATI Display Driver was displayed as an option).

So, I went into Device Manager and clicked Uninstall Driver. When the reboot prompt appeared, I clicked OK and rebooted. My screen looked the same so when I went into Device Manager again, I saw that the driver was not really uninstalled. So I disabled the driver first, then chose Uninstall again. Using Safe Mode is the best option for this, since the VGA driver is used there, easier to remove AGP or video drivers. Still should manually select "Change" from adapter tab, on Display properties sheet. Change to VGA, reboot, get things working in Normal Mode, then try uninstalling old video driver- some comanies provide "driver destroyers" that help remove stubborn software. This is a basic troubleshooting guideline to determine why there is no internet connection. Pay special attention to step 3, determining what IP address is being communicated from the modem to the laptop. You could also compare the IP address being used by the desktop since that machine is working OK.

How to Troubleshoot My Laptop Not Connecting to the Internet | eHow.com

From what I could find out, your ISP is Citycell, is that correct? And you are using a Zoom Ultra modem. According to the Citycell website, there are four different modems available: Harvilon ED 269; Huawei EC 122; Huawei Ec 167; and a ZTE AC682. Which modem do you have? You can probably get an online user manual.

Finally, you could probably contact Citycell Customer Care through their telephone help line, a walk in help center, or by email.

Hi, this is my first post here so be gentle!

Recently I got a bluetooth 4.0 dongle from ebay (china, so that might be my problem right there). I figured if my phone has 4.0, might as well use it to its full potential. Now I can install the drivers fine, windows seems to find them by its self, but the only option I have is connect to access point. No file transfer option, which is why I got it in the first place. If I double click my phone in the bluetooth window it brings up a properties page with no useful information on it, but under services it says "android sms" and when I put a tick in the box it tries to install another driver but fails to find it. I've looked around and can't find one for it anywhere. It's a generic CSR 4.0 bluetooth 4.0 dongle.

The CD that came with the dongle has something on it called bluesoleil, and I did try using it but it's terrible and seems to disable the windows bluetooth stuff and put its own over the top. That I don't mind, but for the latest bluesoleil software that supports call and sms handling it's another ?20 and I resent having to buy it when it should have been shipped with the dongle in the first place (which was only ?5 anyway!) When using bluesoleil, it doesn't have any problems with drivers and I've tried pulling the driver out of the program and uninstalling it to get back to windows bluetooth stuff but I had no luck. A:Big problem with ATI Radeon driver installation

You could try running Driver Sweeper and then installing the ATI drivers. See how that goes.

i want to manually install the newest nvidia display driver on my system. problem is, after i uninstall old driver and reboot, windows automatically installs (within seconds) a wddm display driver that i'm assuming is already stored in some windows folder somewhere on my box. I believe this driver is included in windows 7. this driver is an older driver and i cannot access the nvidia control panel with it. i've googled 'preventing automatic install of drivers' and various other terms and they all point to 'turning off auto windows updates' . this isn't the solution. how the hell can i prevent windows from installing anything but a generic vga display driver, or prompting me with a few options of what to do? thanx very much.

Don't worry about the newly installed default driver. Just install the new nvidia drivers. You'll then have everything you need.

Hi, all
I installed postgresql odbc ver 8.3.5 on my windows 7 home premium. Installation looks successful. But on ODBC data source administrator, I can't see the installed odbc driver. Don't know why. And I found it's installed in program files(86) folder.

A:problem about postgresql ODBC driver installation on W7

I found it by referring the following ...
There are two copies of odbcad32.exe on Windows Vista x64, one is stored at c:\windows\system32\ and one is stored at c:\windows\syswow64\. You need to run c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe to have access for all other ODBC drivers.

HELLO everybody,

i recently installed an ATI radeon 9200 graphics card ( i didn't buy it, found it )
I tried searching for drivers but wherever i go and install the driver, the installation
gives me an error message saying setup was unable to find components that
can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make
sure you have the correct hardware or software.

I know i installed the card propely but i guess i am missing some software or it could be my integrated graphics chipset that has done something.

Please help!

A:ATI Radeon 9200 driver installation problem

The 9200 is no longer supported by ATI/AMD's recent drivers so you have to use older versions. It depends on your operating system as to which one. For Windows 98 use Catalyst 6.2. For Windows XP use 6.11 or older. I think for XP try 6.7 first.

After formatting my PC for some reason my wifi usb adapter TP-Link TL-WN321G stopped working. After 5 days trying to fix it I decided to post here to get some tips.
So far I tried reformatting my PC, uninstalling all usb ports and reinstalling them and even installing new ones! (yeah i but a 10-1 double usb port card) the problem persists.
All the info i have so far are:
-TP-Link TL-WN321G, TL-WN422G, my Toshiba external Hard drive and my Samsung phone are all Unknown Devices.
-When I try to manually install the drivers I get the "the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device" error.
-My mouse is not working corectly when connected to these ports.

My PC specs are
CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz
Motherboard ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5N-E SLI
(bios Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG)
GPU NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GS

I have a Vista Business 32bit OS and am hving trouble solving the famous 'no-sound' mystery.
I tried the simplest way of solving it:

1. Downloaded the Realtek AC'97 driver (as guided by some other forum: No sound with Windows Vista)

2. Tried installing by running up 'setup.exe'.

3. All was well till Vista came up with this message:
'Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software' and had two options:-
-> Don't install this driver software
-> install this driver anyway

I tried using the 2nd option - nothing happened and the same message popped up.
The 1st option obviously quit the installation process.

What do I do? Can anyone please help me on this?? It is frustrating to have a computer without sound and nothing to be done about it..

Hi there. Thanks for reading. I recently got an NVidia GeForce 9800 graphics card; http://www.amazon.co.uk/GeForce-Gra...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281052860&sr=8-3 However, when I try to install the drivers, I get the error message; "The NVidia Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit" I've tried installing the drivers from the CD provided, and from various websites (including the NVidia one), and each gives me the same error. When I put the card in my computer, the monitor's LED remains yellow. When I take out the monitor cable and plug it into the motherboard, I see the "New hardware detected" notification on the desktop. However, this notification tells me that no drivers were found, and that it may not function properly. Which it doesn't. On the Device Manager, the graphics card appears as an unknown piece of hardware, with a yellow question-mark on the icon. My system specs are; Windows XP Professional, 32-bit, SP3. Pentium Duel-Core CPU, E5300 @ 2.60GHz. 3.25GB of RAM. I'm currently using a Radeon 4600 HD graphics card, but it's started to die rapidly and I need to make my new one work fairly urgently. If there's any important information that I've missed, or anything that could be useful, please ask and I'll get right on it. Aside from that, thank you very much in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,
we have the following problem: We have around 150 (identical) virtual machines running Win 7 in a Win2012 R2 Domain.
We also have a printserver (again running Win2012 R2 as all the servers) for a couple of Lexmark printers.
We use a GPO to map all the printers for each user. Normally all of this works fine, but in some instances, the automatic driver installation for the printer fails. In this case I get tons of Event ID 215 (Errorcode 0x0, HResult 0x80070002) errors
in the PrintServer eventlog whenever one tries to access a printer. I can't be a problem with the driver itself since it works fine on most machines and if I recompose the VM (its a VMWare View environment) I have about a 65% chance of the issue
not appearing with the new VM (the userprofile is kept).
Some things I found out so far:
- On the affected machines, pnputil lists the driver twice, once as oem20.inf, once as oem21.inf (both have the same driver version), pnputil -d is only able to deinstall the first one, I get an error message if I try to uninstall the second
setupapi.app.log throws some erros "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified". These appear correct, the FileRepository-subfolder doe not contain all the files it should on the affected machines. If I copy the files from a working computer,
the installation finishes and all is well.
setupapi.dev.log contains these errors:
"Driver package 'lmud... Read more

A:Problem with automatic printer driver installation

we did some further tests and changes and now we've got a solultion.
First of all we removed all lexmark universal drivers that were installed on the Parent VM (pnputil -d xxx).
The problem that the DriverFiles were not proper copied to the "FileRepository" folder, we've excluded the directory "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" from AV scanning. Now everything is fine.
To fix all the user profiles and machines that already have the broken files, we deleted the

"HKCU\Printers\Connections" path in the registry before recomposing the virtual maschine.
After the userlogon no printers are visible until you run "gpupdate /force". So we also deleted the

"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy" path from registry before recomposing the VM to get the printers directly after the recompose.

Thanks for your help! :-)

Hello, I was recently updating my drivers for my x51 from alienware, and after installation it said I needed reboot, so I did, and it shows a black screen saying:

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key_

I'm not going to give my Mac Address our nor my Guid, whatever that is. I have an alienware, I can't open my hardware, and f2 and f12 doesnt work in boot to open my bios editor. I've tried using an hp, corsair, and dell keyboard, neither of them works. Someone tell me how to "Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"?

A:Driver Installation Alienware Bios Problem

Why were you changing the drivers on a driver-complete OS? Did you think it's like XP? It's not. Nor should a BIOS be updated due to risk unless there is an applicable reason to do so listed, and a rescue method ready to go.

If you cannot get the F-key to work to access the BIOS to check the SATA controller and Boot order settings which likely changed, then reset the CMOS to see if that helps access the BIOS: How To Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS) [Easy, 10 to 15 Min]

I've had a system running stably under Windows 7 for the last couple of years. There have been no hardware changes in that time.

Today I noticed that my DVD drive (Optiarc AD-7173S) was no longer visible.I checked Device Manager, which showed this message: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

I uninstalled the drive and rebooted. Windows attempted to reinstall it but gave up with the error message: "Device driver software was not successfully installed"

I uninstalled again and went through the registry, deleting all references to the drive. There were a couple of relevant entries that initially could not be deleted, so I got rid of these with the aid of PSTools. I rebooted the PC and once again, Windows' attempt to install the drive failed.

I've also tried the whole process in safe mode.

I'd be extremely grateful for some suggestions here as I'm getting desperate.

I recently bought a new Geforce 9600GT. i have a asus P5RD1-VM motherboard, which has a ATI express onboard graphics card. so i uninstalled the ati drivers, went to the BIOS and looked to disable to the onboard graphics card. i couldnt find an option to altogether disable it, but i found an option to set PCI as priority, so i did that. then i connected the gfx card.
now when i run my pc, it starts properly, shows the name of the card at the startup and everything. but when i try installing drivers for the card, it gives an error saying the driver could not find any compatible hardware. i tried different version drivers, but still the same problem.
i also tried a modified nv4_disp.inf file, and the have disk method, but that isnt working either. i tried cleaning old drivers using driver sweep, but it is not helping.
in the device manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark against PCI to PCI express bridge.
the same problem with both xp as well as vista (dual boot).
is it a problem with the motherboard? will changing it work? i think the card is okay bcos the system does recognise it at startup.
please help me out with this...
thank you!
