Purchased a Lenovo Yoga 910 Signature Edition from the Microsoft Store 3 months ago.Lenovo Yoga 910-13IKB 80VF Signature Edition I do not see it on the Lenovo Spectre/Meltdown bios update list. Is there an ETA for a bios update for the Yoga 910 Signature Edition to add new Intel CPU firmeware to address the spectre issue? Thanks very much.

Hello,     I was recently prompted to install the following updates but I am unsure as to what they mean and if it is absolutely necessary/recommended to install them. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.  Edit: My BIOS update also asked me to choose from two options: Update BIOS or Update Model number.  I have updated neither as I am unsure what it means and why I see that message. Lenovo automatically installed a BIOS (1.39) and firmware update in November.  Lenovo Vantage says these updates were completed successfully. The touchscreen and pen stopped worked after that.  Windows doesn't recognize the pen or touch input anymore.  Firmware tool says "device not found".   Latest BIOS update (1.40) and Windows update in December didn't help.

My X1 Yoga touch screen stopped working after BIOS(V1.40), Touch firmware(V4.20) update. My Win 10 is still at ver 1803.I downgraded BIOS. But that doesn't help. Both USB Type A 3.0  ports as well as the USB 2.0 portion of the DC-in port are non-functional. I have tried thumb drives, wireless mouse receivers and even a portable cd-drive.....no luck on any front. I have ran windows updates, the intel driver & support assistant as well as the lenovo solution center; all of which claim all drivers/bios version/system version are up to date. Has anyone experienced any success tackling a similar issue?

Hello, I've had my Yoga 900-13ISK2 Signature Edition for a little less than 2 years and up until recently it has been working flawlessly.  After the recent windows 10 1803 update, I started seeing the "phantom touches" or "ghost touches" phenomena on my screen.  It is not very frequent, but it does happen from time to time.  I am not sure if anything triggers the behavior as it normally happens randomly and not related to any particular task.   This is very annoying and disruptive especially because I use this machine for work.  I checked to make sure all my drivers were up-to-date and they all are.  I checked the forum and there were no solutions for my PC there either.  I used the recovery function to do a clean install of windows, thinking that maybe the 1803 patch caused this issue and that seemed to work fine for a while but the phenomena came back.  By the way, the signature edition doesn't come with the factory image partition (major error on Lenovo's part - that should be standard on all devices, no matter what the edition) and now the Novo/Nova (sp?) button doesn't work and the Airplane Mode hot key doesn't work.  For such a premium laptop, it is definitely lacking in areas that are easy to provide to make the customer experience positive. I still have this issue and want to know if anyone else is seeing this problem.  I also tried stopping the HID touchscreen controller and re-starting to see if that h... I have a HDMI adapter that used to work with an adapter although did not use very often.  Then at some point I tried using it and it does not work.   I ordered another adapter in case the one I had was faulty, still it does not work.    Now I read about an update for a lot of the Thinkpads to address a defective USB-C port issue.   I am thinking the Yoga 910 may have a similar issue.  I have read about HDMI issues on the laptops but have not see anyone describe what I am seeing - following is my issue.  After connecting a monitor via the HDM adapter, and I have tried this with TVs as well as computer monitors, when I go to the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, then go to Multiple Displays window, I can select Clone Display or Extended Desktop.  Under the 'Select One or More Active Displays' it actually shows two displays - builtin and the monitor I am hooked up to.  So it is seeing the monitor connected via the adapter.   But when I click on 'Detect' button, which shows two displays above it, a window pops up saying 'No other display has been detected.  If you do not see a display, verify all the connections and check that the display is powered on'. So although it seems that the computer, in some form or fashion, sees the HDMI monitor in some other sense it is not detecting it.  So I cannot display on the other monitor.  And the monitor connected to the computer indicates it does no... So whenever I play games (specifically grand theft auto five) I will boot it up and then within minutes it will begin to lose frames, but only for breif yet increasing stretches of time. My frames will drop to like 15-20, there will be the sound of static (as in the alteration of in game noise), input lag will occur (sometimes with times between 5-10 seconds of delay between when I push a button and when my character moves), and then after like a minute it will snap right back out of it, but do it again in just a little bit. CPU: Intel i700-7700HQ CPURAM: 16 GBGPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 I have some pretty good computer stats, so I really see no reason why the game should be doing this. Possible Causes Inability to update Intel Driver (this seems intentional on lenovo's part)The fans. I found there is an update for my SSD*. As my XPS13 sometimes hangs on thaw, I wander if this update could help. I read it fixes issues about power management, but nowhere I read it targets ubuntu.
Also, can I use the iso file to burn a usb stick instead of a CD?

Lenovo Vantage updated the T480s BIOS on 8/9. I immediately started getting a Thunderbolt error when starting Windows 10 64, which says to update the Thunderbolt firmware. I downloaded the current firmware from Lenovo (n22th06w) but I get the following error when trying to update: 0x20D SDK_INVALID_OPERATION_IN_SAFE_MODE What's the solution, Lenovo? Thanks.

Hi there, my Helix laptop (purchased a few years ago) is giving me the "Keyboard Dock Fan Error" at startup. I am then unable to use the keyboard and mouse pad. I previously had this same error a couple of years ago and had solved it using the Firmware update.Now I tried:- BIOS update. Done updated to the latest BIOS version.- Tried doing again the firmware update (although I had done it a couple of years ago) but now I have Windows 10 and the firmware update executable on the Lenovo site says it is for Windows 8 or below. I tried it anyway but it gave an error saying: "This tool and EC firmware mismatch, or communication error is happened.".  Your help is much appreciated.- Najib

Hello. Back story, our company has purchased and now rolled out our Lenovo X1 Yoga laptops (model 20FQ).  During the rollout, we installed all of the drivers from lenovo's site via the MDT driver package and then deployed the latest System Inteface Foundation so we could install teh Lenovo Settings app later down the road via the Windows 10 App store.   We have not installed the lenovo settings or lenovo companion apps from the store but are now receiving reports of users getting a message from "Lenovo Companion" that an update is available.  The update that is available is an Intel ME firmware update.  Is there a way to disable or prevent these updates from pushing to users via registry or configuration file? Does the System Interface Foundations app contain the Lenovo Companion app or the update features?   Screenshot of update message attached.  We do have the ADMX templates for Lenovo Companion and Settings in our AD/GPO; would disabling updates in the GPO for Companion prevent these from running even though we don't really have the actual Companion app installed?Thanks!Further details:Win10 x64 Enterprise Edition 1607 build w/all latest patches/updates.

A:X1 Yoga and Intel ME Firmware update being pushed but how?

Lenovo System Interface Foundation (LSIF) is doing this.  The only purpose of this app is to support Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion, so if you don't install these apps, there is no point to install LSIF.  One of the features of LSIF is to automatically install "critical" updates for Lenovo software and drivers, such as this recent Intel ME Firware update.

I tried to update my firmware on X1 yoga Gen 1 (on Fedora Linux). After rebooting, I saw a Lenovo update splash screen briefly and then it went black. Pressing the power button gave two beeps, a short pause and then three beeps. After the battery drained, I can now get to bios but cannot boot from hard drive or usb drives, I just get an infinite loop of Lenovo boot splash and reboot. Can I fix this somehow?

trying to update my thunderbolt firmware to latest 17.0.0.8-N25TF13W but seems like everytime I try to update and the laptop restarts, it doesnt really seem to update the firmware.  Tried doing the update thru Lenovo vantage app, Downloading it manually thru lenovo's support page, also tried doing the update thru Lenovo's website thru automatic detect and install. but seems that everytime I try to do an update, it goes thru the process of updating, restarts the computer at the end. but when I try to do check for updates, the Lenovo Vanatge app and Lenovo website say's that I still need the update, and I am still running the old Firmware version NVM 33

This is a heads up message as I was able to recover my system by doing a grub2-install booting from a recovery USB. I must say I had used `fwupdmgr update` before to update my Thinkpad's firmware and it worked flawlessly. However, this last update left my boot pointing at the wiped out Windows boot in UEFI, which rendered my boot broken. If anyone from Lenovo is listening, please try to avoid breaking Linux user's systems . Argh. Ever since I installed the Lenovo NVMe Solid State Drive Firmware v36 as recommended by Lenovo Vantage on 25 January 2020, I've started getting bluescreens.  The laptop will also sometimes complain about M.2 problems at startup.  Just now, my laptop went into a loop of bluescreens at startup while I had my USB-C dock from ALogic plugged in (which connects my external monitor, Focusrite USB Audio Interface, and my Lenovo USB power adaptor... things I really need to use). Drive performance seems to have taken a nosedive since that NVMe firmware update, apps occasionally seem to lock up while waiting on drive IO. I didn't have any of these problems before updating to the v36 NVMe firmware, or the associated v1.38 BIOS / Intelligent Thermal Solution Driver v1.0.1.335 / Power Management Driver v1.67.17.48 releases that all came through Vantage on that same day.  I only updated because of all the news media stories about Lenovo's fixes for critical ThinkPad USB-C problems, but frankly I didn't have any of these problems until I installed the patches from Vantage. I feel like these patches gave me the problems it was meant to avoid! Hopefully Lenovo is aware of the problems and seeing the bluescreen telemetry trickle in?

(Code 10)Indicates a revision number encountered or specified is not one known by the service. But then it goes back to a driver from 2006 (indeed the error is gone) and when I update the driver, the error is back. Also, after the update (during booting the computer, it says it was successful), the update is still listed under the System Update Tool, indicating it actually didn't install (see below). Hi all, Yesterday when I turned on the computer and logged in into windows, a warning-window poped-up asking for recomended "Firmware Update" by Lenovo. I ve proceeded with the update. After an intall-restart I wasn't able to log in with my fingerprint anymore. After a small investigation I've realized that are now three devices with problems (Code 31) in my device manager.The devices are:Biometric Devices - Synaptics WBDI - SGXSensors - HID Sensor Collection V2System Devices - System Interface Foundation V2 DeviceSo, besides the FingerPrint, I'm not able to use the Auto-Rotate (when turning the lid into tablet or tent mode) feature and the Lenovo Vantage Software since it asks me to update the System Interface Foundation Driver. What I have tried so far:Reinstall (since I can't rollback) the Firmware Driver: "Type C Firmware for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 920-13IKB, Yoga 920-13IKB Glass 1.3" (since there isn't a lower version to roll back)Reinstall all drivers from Lenovo web-page (FingerPrint, System Interface Foundation, Chipset, Display, Audio, etc)And finally, Reinstall the operating system Windows 10 64 using system restore I've not clue what to do next and I'm really avoiding opening an RMA. Please help me. Thank you.

I am trying to update the BIOS (r06uj47w) on a Lenovo T460 (20FMS26R00). Am using the latest ThinInstaller ([Thin Installer build: 2016-07-05 Version: 1.2.0018]). When ThinInstaller processed the BIOS update package, it rejects the package because the CRC error for the package is wrong. I've manually applied the package successfully. Question for the Lenovo techicians, can you confirm this behaviour? And can this be corrected in the software catalog? After installing the latest firmware update (V.4.20/5.04/100.3) touch screen is dead. I looked at the device manager and no indication of error anywhere. Can't find device that would require an update - nothing like 'other device', nor under Human Interface Devices.  Noted that during the update it reported several times 'pen not found'.  How to enable touch screen again that worked perfectly fine until this update was installed?

I did some updates on my Yoga and now my touchscreen no longer works. I have gone to the device manager and updated and checked on it. No luck. My pen works, but the finger touch does not. Nothing else seems to have happened to my computer past the updates. It seems like others seem to have this problem since updating their computers. My computer is no longer under warranty, and since I bought this thing for its touchscreen, I am a little choked that it has gone kaput. Would it have been the update that caused it, or would it have been just a case of it went kaputsky at the same time and it is a mere coincidence? Either way, I am really upset that this machine is broken so soon. Any idea if there is going to be an update to fix this or if it is now just blown?

After performing the May 15, 2018 update, my touchscreen no longer works.  The Wavcom device in device manager is hidden and shows "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. Get a messagebox saying "battery not detected" and it's not charging from mains. So laptop has now turned into a desktop... as needs plugging in continually... making it almost useless for purpose. This happened exactly after firmware update a few weeks ago. By coincidence the management software also kindly informed me that it could manage the battery better and stop it wearing out by only charging up to 90% - fair enough, but don't treat me like a muppet and disable it without any way to get it back. Tons of Windows 10 updates today (after not being able to use it for a few weeks) but still no battery. I tried F1 BIOS but nothing there to enable the battery (only to disable it). This is frankly a joke - timing shows it's due to the firmware update because the battery was fine and lasted a couple of hours right before. In 25 years of countless laptops, have never had this problem - batteries weaken gradually but don't suddenly lock up and require a paid replacement suddenly. How do we run down our original battery properly before polluting the planet? Phil

Hello everyone, Lenovo System Update keep asking me to install version 10.0.56.3002 of Intel Management Engine Firmware on my ThinkPad Yoga 12 (Type 20DK) running Windows 10 Pro x64. Once I install the update, a cmd window pops up for a fraction of a second, then my PC restarts. However, the installation seems to fail as System Update keeps asking me to install the update again after the reboot. I understand that this update is security critical and therefore want to resolve the installation error. I've done a little debugging by running MEInfoWin.exe and FWUpdLcl64.exe in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ME:The update seems to fail indeed, as MEInfoWin.exe still reports my FW Version as 10.0.55.3000.When I try to manually run the upgrade, I get an error:C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ME>FWUpdLcl64.exe -f ME10.0_5M_Production.binIntel (R) Firmware Update Utility Version: 10.0.56.3002Copyright (C) 2007 - 2017, Intel Corporation. After performing the May 15, 2018 update, my touchscreen no longer works.  The Wavcom device in device manager is hidden and shows "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)"  I have done extensive searches in this site and in google and have not been able to find a solution.  It was working fine before the update.

Update: after a few days my touchscreen suddenly started working again. Not sure what happened but happy to have it back.

have anyone seen the 16.0.0.2-R0STF14W 2018/08/07 updater fail to update the Thunderbolt firmware? i tried both manually download the packagehttps://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ec/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-X-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-...orvia Vantage, both got no error message, but the firmware wasn't updated.completly running Detect2016.exe said the build ID is still R0STF13W, release note said it should have go to R0STF14WNVM image is 14 though. Vantage wil detect machine has old version and want to do it again.  I let it do it three times, same things. Thunderbolt Driver has been updated to 17.3.74.8 (package version 17.3.74.400) before firmware update

Hello Today y made a BIOS Update in windows 7 (64) from 3.06 to 3.90.The Update Process freeze at end  and only Power Cycle possible (Waited 15min.) Now when power Up only noise from Fan and Black Screen.CD rom blink  (like he search somthing) Called HP Support... and what Surprise... Support ended 1 month before... I asked for Help in Bios Crisis Recovery procedure...And the nice woman told me that only can buy a New Motherboard. Can anybody Help Me Please ? Is there really no recovery procedure ? Please ?

Hi: If you run the BIOS file again (on another PC), the intruction page opens and you can try this...I'd burn the DOS based flash files on a CD, since the DVD drive may be looking for a CD to recover from, but according to the instructions below, you can use a USB flash drive (formatted in the FTA 32 files system, not NTFS). Just put the files inside the folder on the CD, not the folder. Fail-safe BootBlock Recovery ModeHP Workstations include 64 KB of write-protected boot block ROM that provides a way to recover from a failed update of the system BIOS ROM, for instance in the event of a power loss.  Fail-safe BootBlock Recovery Mode will detect that the BIOS is unusable and boot the workstation in a recovery mode and search the root folder of any FAT/FAT32 file system on any USB media source (hard drive, flash drive, etc.) for a compatible binary image. The binary (.bin) file in the DOS Flash folder should be copied to the root of the desired storage device, and the system powered on. Once the binary image is located, the BIOS recovery process will be attempted. The automatic recovery will continue until the BIOS is successfully updated or restored.

I'm a new owner of a Flex 4-1570 Ideapad. I have a critical update awaiting install, however the window popup says it is for the YOGA not the Flex. Thus, I have not installed it. My question is, should I install it? If not, how do I turn the notification off? Thanks!
