I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It have tryed now 3-5 times... And everytime upgrade process brake down... And return to 1703... And the Windows popup start to get more and more angry, about when to upgrade and so... Since we have 2 computers with the same problem, and all is run up from a master system... I think it is one of the drivers there is not 1709 compatibel.. Do anyone have the same problem, and have solved it, so I can get to 1709 version.

Microsoft launched Windows 10 on July 29, 2015, with the mission of bringing it on 1 billion devices by 2017, including here desktop computers, laptops, tables, and smartphones.

Yesterday, the company revealed that after 9 months since launch, Windows 10 was running on 300 million devices across the world, which makes it the fastest adopted operating system ever released by Microsoft.

The software giant has been saying the same thing since 2015 and comparison stats after 9 months on the market indeed seem to indicate that Windows 10 recorded better adoption figures than Windows 7, which is generally referred to as the most successful Windows version to date (together with the outdated Windows XP, of course).

Figures put together by VB show that Windows 10 needed exactly 281 days (approximately 9 months) to reach 300 million installs (between July 29, 2015, and May 5, 2016), while Windows 7 did the same in 462 days (about 15 months) between October 22, 2009, and January 27, 2011. This means that Windows 10 was installed on 300 million devices 181 days (six months) faster than Windows 7.

30 million installs in just one month.

For those willing to upgrade to Windows 10, the GWX and Media Creation Tool are godsend. I believe people are still sceptical about switching to Windows 10 following the release of Windows 8 in 2012. Coincidentally, it's the same year the world was supposed end.

On My T420 I have just upgraded from Windows 1611 (Anniversary Upgrade) to 1703 (Creators Upgrade). As a result Device Manager reports a conflict in a basic system install stating no driver is installed for VEN 1180 - DEV E822. This is the Ricoh Multicard reader.Under Windows 10 1611 it had worked without problems. It works fine under Ubuntu 16.04 (has dual boot system).I have tried installing the latest driver version 2.22.18.01 released 8.6.2015 stated to be for Windows 10 and although no conflict occurs during the install, following a reboot it still shown as missing under Device Manager. The T420 is not listed under Lenovo's list of tested devices for Windows 10 1703.Has anyone else had any expereince or knowledge on what can be tried?Maybe I will just try the Windows 8 driver (version 2.22.18) from the Windows 10 driver was produced from.

are you missing?Drivers for 2000 & 98se are different if you mean modem drivers? The
file system is different from memory-2000 using NTFS(New Technology File System)-98

The update systematically fails after reboot, with an error : error during SAFE_BOOT phasis : error 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 .It seems that the problem is due to the graphic card RADEON HD3650.There is no update for this card on Lenovo's support website and the Thinkpad T500 is even no more known so there is no possibility to get any updated driver for my laptop !!!What can I do ? Is it possible toi replace this card in my laptop or is it full part of the mother card ? Any idea, please let me know ... Thanks for your help !

Microsoft Finally Fixes Error 633 in Windows 10 Creators Update

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 cumulative update KB4022716 earlier this week, and one of the most important changes that it brings is a bugfix for error 633.

If you?ve never experienced this error, the chances are that you have no idea what it does, though there are thousands or maybe more users out there who have been trying to deal with this since the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update.

In just a few words, this error impacts modems and dial-up connections, causing them not to work correctly, even though everything was just fine before the update to the Creators Update. We?ve also experienced the same bug on at least two Windows 10 laptops here at Softpedia, and finding a workaround was a really difficult job, especially because the typical fixes made no difference.

So if you are also experiencing the same problem and want to have it fixed to continue using a dial-up connection in Windows 10 Creators Update, just download and install Windows 10 cumulative update KB4022716 and everything should return to normal.

The easiest workaround
The only workaround that we tried and which got the modem working on our PCs involved launching the Windows 10 Registry Editor (by typing regedit in the Start menu) and navigating to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan

Look for a key called RequiredPrivileges and double-click to open it. At the end of the tex... Read more

This is disk management on the computer that was upgraded using the Microsoft Update Assistant:

This computer was used to reproduce a Windows defender offline blue screen boot loop.  The troubleshooting menu on a windows 10 1607 iso did not have startup options with safe mode and command prompt to turn off windows driver verifier.  The partitions
on the SSD drive were deleted making the drive unallocated.  Then the windows 10 version 1607 was installed.  And as above it was upgraded to version 1703 yesterday without any problems.  The Windows defender offline incompatibility problem
with Windows driver verifier was tested with windows 10 version 1703 and the blue screen boot loop was fixed by Microsoft so that it is no longer occurs.
A second computer had the option via windows updates to get an early edition of 1703.
This update method was selected and this morning it displayed:
Something went wrong.
Error code 0xc1900200

Ok, well, I feel good now that I can upgrade my system even 3 times faster than my computer you can see in my sig. Well, here is the hardware:

Abit KR7A-RAID

Athlon XP 1600+

Geil Ultra PC2700 RAM, 2x256 (512MB total)

Power Max 400W POWER SUPPLY

Now, with that all coming on its way. I have a question. What do I need to do before I install my hardware? Do have have to backup my harddrives? Thanks!

William

A:Finally, I get to Upgrade, but I have question...

Well, XP does not like being moved to a different motherboard because of chipset changes and it may refuse to boot. So, yeah backing up would be a good idea. You can also try installing the new chipset drivers on the old system just before you replace the motherboard - although this does always work.

After transplanting the HDD, it may work, or you may have to do a repair installation, or a full format and reinstall(best result). You may want the 60GB HDD as the primary since its gonna be faster then the old 12Gb Fireball. Your data can be safely stored on the one drive you do not wish to reformat or touch.

I use to have a write-up on how to successfully move XP, but Microsoft removed the link from their website

Hello guys,
Back when the Windows 7 Student Discount was going on my parents bought the upgrade for there computer. Unfortunantley they got the 64bit version instead of 32bit. As I know, you cannot upgrade directly to 64bit from 32bit. They want to do a direct upgrade so they can keep there software. I have a Windows 7 32 bit CD and I am going to let them use it to upgrade there PC. Can I use the 64bit key with the 32 bit CD? I just wanted to know because I know you can with Retail keys, but can you do it with digitalriver's key? Is it identical to a retail key?

I followed a post by "Brink" which says that using gpedit.msc on win 7 and 8 "pro" machines one can block the win10 upgrade by through Group Policy Objects by "enabling" and therefore blocking OS upgrades to the latest version through win update.

I did this manually and even later tried to upgrade that machine to win10 and it could not do it. Hahahaha finally a fairly simple means of blocking win10.

I work with several hundred customers and therefore several thousand win7 pro machines and would like to automate this change with a script, or bat or .reg file. I tried to customize a .reg file to do this and it made changes in the registry similar to what the gpedit.msc did but it did not make the changes in the gpedit.msc console and later it still tried to upgrade to win 10.

I am not a win 10 hater my work uses proprietary software that just only works with win7 pro...Any ideas thanks very much Gordo

It could very well be a driver issue if this just started with the Creators Update (1703) version of Windows 10. Per the readme.txt for the Ethernet adapter in your system  from the from the Lenovo Ethernet driver page for your system, your system your system has a "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219-V or LM adapter".    The driver on Lenovo's site is from 2016, which is rather old, so you might try downloading and installing the latest Intel Driver from the link below, which supports the "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219-V and LM adapters. Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows® 10*  (Version: 22.3 (Latest) Date: 4/27/2017)https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10-?product... If you still have issue, try try uninstalling the existing Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219 adapter via Windows Device Manager, making sure to check the box to  "Delete the driver software for this device" to ensure any corrupt driver files are removed, and then installing the new driver fresh, even if you choose to reinstall the one from Lenovo. Good Luck,

Hello,

First post here. Usually I'm pretty competent enough to figure out or google my way to fixing any computer problems I have but this one is really stumping me.

I recently tried to update to Windows 10 Ver. 1703. Everything seemed G2G, got a notification saying I need to restart my comp. to complete the update.
I restarted, everything seemed normal, until my comp. stayed at the Windows logo and spinning white dots for hours. At first, thought everything might be taking a while so I left it running at the same screen, left and was gone for about 4 hours, came back. Same screen.

Didn't think it would take this long so I force restart by pressing the button on the front of my comp. and starting up again. Once again, same screen for about 2 hours.

Did the 3 turn off shebang and came up to a screen with Windows Automatic Repair. It takes maybe 5 minutes and tries to load a window, flashes the window, then gives me a black screen till I move my mouse and all I got was a large mouse. Can't click anything, no control.

I create a Windows Recovery Disk off my wife's Windows 10 comp. and try it.
Load from BIOS but get a non-system disc error(if I remember correctly)
Create a Windows Recovery Drive from USB, that works, but I can't do anything but use command prompt.

Finally, I use bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /fixmbr. Restart, and my computer will boot into windows. It still didn't complete the update to Ver. 1703.
I try playing a game, it hangs ... Read more

Microsoft just installed Windows 10 Version 1703 on my M83 last Tuesday and the result is it overrides the sleep and lock screen settings and defaults to 1 minute to go to sleep. I spent close to 15 hours with various level 2 techs over this past weekend to get this corrected on my home computer without success. The last instruction from Microsoft was that this is not their problem and that the power management functions are controlled by the BIOS and is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the computer. I am hoping that millions of computers will be affected and that this isn't isolated to just my computer, for that's the only way to get either Microsoft or Lenovo to focus on the problem.

I am not trying to make anyone feel bad, especially since I have done my share of suffering, but my original Sprout is running with the version of Windows 10 listed in the title.  Every time I upgrade Windows, I go through the same pain:  Sprout Service is missing, Workplace can't load, etc., etc., etc.  When Workplace does load, the scan or capture or something doesn't work, and I don't know where "Sprout Create" is. Every time, I sit around doing the same thing: turn the computer off and on, restart the computer, push all the buttons over and over again.  Eventually, things start running, for no reason that I can see.  I am happy it finally runs correctly, but why do we have to go through this nonsense?  Crap ! There's been discussion here about doing clean reloads, etc., etc.  I might suggest the following instead: if your computer still runs, keep updating it.  Also, just sit there and power up and down and restart.  Maybe the magic will happen. Those of us with the original Sprout should not be abandoned.  The new Sprout looks cool, but I spent my fortune on the original.   HP: help us out here with read, coninuing support.

A:Windows 10 Creators Update - Version 1703 - still not appear...

Hi, No, it won't be shown in Windows Update. Microsoft says it will notify you when your machine ready but you can jump the queue and upgrade yourself:      https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/d4efb316-79f0-1aa1-9ef3-dcada78f3fa0/get-the-windows-10-creators-update There are still HEAPS of problems. I tried few weeks back for my test machines and all failed at around 70% to 77%.           http://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-creators-update-common-problems-and-fixes I would not bother now, will wait for few more months. Regards.

I have a OptiPlex 760 SFF, with 2GB ram and standard graphic card. Dell has stopped updating the drivers. Dell has not tested this model for above update. What do I need to replace for 1703, or will I need a replacement computer? As all ways limited budget, so looking for the cheapest way forward. I would prefer not to have go back to Win 7.
Hope someone can give me some advice on this problem.
Cheers, Digby

Hi all, Per the tested Lenovo devices list here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht503655 the IdeaPad z580 is NOT on the list as an official tested device -- has anyone here had any personal experience updating Windows 10 to the Creators Update (1703)? Did everything go smoothly? Thank you!
