WinRT - How to Enable "Timed Logout" Feature in Webview or Detect Pointer Pressed/Tapping Event in Webview

Q: WinRT - How to Enable "Timed Logout" Feature in Webview or Detect Pointer Pressed/Tapping Event in Webview

I am developing a WinRT app. One of the requirements is that the app should have a "timed logout" feature. What this means is that on any screen, if the app has been idle for 10 mins, the app should logout and navigate back to the home screen.

By using this link and applied the logic given in below link

http://stackoverflow.com/a/18878954/3560390

Its works fine in all screens except webview, because webview not supports any touch event or tap event.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/windows.ui.xaml.controls.webview.aspx

How to enable "timed logout" feature in WinRT webview ?

Any help is welcome..

Thanks!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am having problems with webview 360 (I don't know if it is an actual program) It is an email address that you open up and you can look at a panoramic view of homes for sale (by room). It keeps freezing up on me and I have to manually shut my computer down. Does anyone know why it keeps freezing up on me?

Hiya

lets try a 'spring clean'

Go to Tools | Internet Options. General tab. Under Delete Files, delete offline content

Advanced tab, under Browsing, look for Enable Insta on Demand. Untick.
Under Security, look for Empty Tempory Internet... Tick.
Apply and OK

Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list here.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and up until today Ive managed to fix most of my windows problems, but this one has me at my wits end. About a week ago, right after I installed a new DVD Burner and Nero 6 my computer (Windows XP) stopped showing the welcome screen when resuming from screen saver. It will still show the screen when resuming from standby mode, but I want to make sure the screen saver feature is not indicative of something worse. Whats more troubling is that I can go to the registry and set all the right keys and it still wont work. I am setting ScreenSaverIsSecure to 1 and NoAutoReturnToWelcome to 0. After doing this, the window shows the "On Resume...." checkbox is checked but the function is greyed out. Fast-user switching is turned on.

Here is an HJT Log of my system. Any Suggestions

Hi - I have a thinkpad x61t. When it's in the docking station, whenever I press "shift" "alt" or "ctrl" a little pop up window tells me that key is being pressed. The laptop does not do this when it's out of the docking station. I've looked all over the control panel in vista and can't find any setting.

Any ideas how to switch it off? Driving me nuts! Thanks.

Hello all,
First, is it just me or is the Dell website a little difficult to navigate and sort of annoying? Having said that, I'm not here to trash Dell. I have been, overall, very happy with my Inspiron 3650; however, I have been plagued with some chronic Event Viewer warnings and errors. (As a side note- if there is a particular "group" or "forum" or whatever that discusses Event Viewer messages I would be grateful for that link). While most errors are Windows related, I do get one error which occurs every other day, "Event 0, Dell System Detect"--"The character '/' cannot be included in a name". See below for details.  While it doesn't seem to be causing any immediate problems (other than annoying me), I am concerned that it is affecting my ability to receive updates from Dell.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! If this is the wrong forum to post this, please advise as well.
Thanks, P.

Do you really need DSD? You can always check for updates yourself using your Service Tag at Dell's Support page for this model.
Do you have the latest version of DSD for your version of Windows, assuming you want to keep it? Even if you do, maybe you should uninstall it and reinstall it. Manually set a System Restore point first, just to be safe.

Hello, i've been having this problem for a week now, tried to fix it but no luck what so ever. So i got tired and i am looking for your assistance on this matter.
Every time I play Aion online, in about 10-30mins i get a blue screen saying "REFERENCE BY POINTER" or "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL", tried many methods that were stated on the forums of different sites but no luck... that is why i am attaching my BSOD information and hoping for you assistance. Thank you in advance.
PS: When I play Aion, and the PC restarts (caused by BSOD) most of the time the minidump isn't created and sometimes it doesn't go into the BSOD it just restarts, but i know the problem is the BSOD.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x86(32bit)
It's the original installed OS on my system (OEM)
I've had this computer for ~4years, drivers always up to date and i reisntalled my Windows yesterday.
Attaching the Zip file with the information required which was on BSOD posting instructions post.

A:BSOD playing Aion, "REFERENCE BY POINTER" and "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL"

No DMPS included in upload try this method.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP
We could also use some system information, which you can get easily by running msinfo32.
To do that go to start>run>type msinfo32>enter

When it is finished running go to file>save>name it and upload to us here.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).

Argh. This is getting frustrating.

The "tapping" function on my Inspiron 9300's touchpad keeps getting intermittently disabled when I try to watch videos. It's very sporadic and I have, so far, been unable to determine any kind of set pattern or commonality between the times that it happens. The only thing that is for sure is that it only happens when I am attempting to watch videos. i.e., YouTube, CNN, MySpace, etc.

When it happens, I have to go to Control Panel > Mouse > Touchpad and then de-select "Tapping" (yes, it is always still selected even when apparently disabled) and then re-select it and click OK.

The left and right "mouse" buttons below the touchpad are never affected nor is the ability to move the pointer around the screen using the touchpad.

Help? Thanks!

EDITED TO ADD: I should have mentioned that I did uninstall the driver and reinstall an updated one from Dell directly. Also, I just discovered today that I actually don't have to deselect the tapping tick-box and then reselect it as I originally thought. All I have to do is open up the Mouse Properties under the Control Panel and simply click OK to close it again. Works every time.

BUT, why is this happening???

A:Where are "ModemRingOn" and "PME Wake Up Event" located in bios?

BIOS's vary widely; there is no standard features that are included. It's possible your BIOS has neither of them.

If these are features you are interested in exist, the first thing to do is to check the motherboard manufacturer's web site's "support" page, and find out what the latest version of BIOS is available for your motherboard, compare that to what you actually have on your motherboard, and then read the change log to see if possible these features were added.

You can also research these features by Googling the text "ModemRingOn" and the model number of your motherboard "GA-XYZ123" in the same search, in order to filter hits that are limited to those that include references to both of these qualities. Look for forum posts, and other technical sites & information.

Also, look for the User Manual for your motherboard on-line. Sometimes these include information on the BIOS of the motherboard.

Hi,
I recently changed homes and had to change to a new cable connection from a new ISP. After the cable had been plugged in the ethernet card, along with all the necessary details, the internet does not work; pages do not load at all; ping requests are timed out, while the connection statistics show that not a single byte has been received. I have tried reformatting and reinstalling, however, even though ping requests get received initially, it stops doing so (i.e. "request timed out") after around fifteen to twenty minutes.

I use Windows XP SP2, and I have tried it out both with my integrated Intel Pro Connections ethernet card as well as a Surecom card and other ethernet cards. I am puzzled as to what this problem could be, however I suspect there might be a problem with the cable, but I fear there doesn't appear to be any justification for these suspicions of mine. Could someone help me? It really is a pretty aggravating issue.

A:Net sends bytes/pings but receives none; "request timed out" errors

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP (Home or Pro), SP1-SP2-SP3, Vista (Home, Business, Ultimate), etc.
The Internet Browser in use, IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?
For wireless issues, have you disabled all encryption on the router to see if you can connect that way?
Have you connected directly to the broadband modem to see if this is a router or modem/ISP issue?
If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?

It's all in the title really.. The internet works fine as soon as I startup but after about 1 to 2 hours I get the message "Err-Timed-Out" on every page I visit.. except, worth noting maybe, if I'm watching a YouTube video it'll still play and load up but trying to visit other sites I get the error. Anyway, after I restart the pc, the internet works fine again... for another 1 or 2 hours.

I tried a number of fixes after searching online..
* editing host file to delete any sites.
* doing the ipconfig /flushdns /renew (etc..) through the command prompt.
* disabling Anti-Virus
* disabling AdBlock (on chrome)
* running Spybot
* cleaning registry using CCleaner.
* cleaned using Malwarebytes

Pretty certain it's not a router/network issue because my tablet still connects to the internet fine.

Any help would be really appreciated, it's been happening everyday for weeks now so I'm almost getting used to having to restart every hour or 2 but another concern is if the problem could get worse and the internet might stop altogether?

It's all in the title really.. The internet works fine as soon as I startup but after about 1 to 2 hours I get the message "Err-Timed-Out" on every page I visit.. except, worth noting maybe, if I'm watching a YouTube video it'll still play and load up but trying to visit other sites I get the error. Anyway, after I restart the pc, the internet works fine again... for another 1 or 2 hours.

I tried a number of fixes after searching online..
* editing host file to delete any sites.
* doing the ipconfig /flushdns /renew (etc..) through the command prompt.
* disabling Anti-Virus
* disabling AdBlock (on chrome)
* running Spybot
* cleaning registry using CCleaner.
* cleaned using Malwarebytes

Hi everyone,

I need some help with process explorer. I'm in Hungary now
My process explorer has 86 processes, when I activated VT checking, it showed "The operation timed out". It rarely succeeds. I tested it with my main PC, w10 x64, and also in a windows 7 32bit VM (which has much less processes)

The only solution is to use a VPN and change the location to anywhere else other than Hungary. In this case, it rarely fails

What is the problem here? How can I fix it without changing my VPN?
Thank you so much

Hi folks
I have no trouble connecting to the internet and in fact when running an internet speed test I get very respectable numbers. One thing is baffling me though. Though I have no trouble connecting to any website, when pinging that same website using a command prompt, I get nothing but "request timed out". How is this possible and what if anything is wrong? I ping cnn and google but always get zero packets recieved. I am running Vista and firefox and have tried both with and without my firewall turned on. Ideas?

A:ping result give "request timed out"

asdf523,

One thing you can try that may give some useful information is running a tracert on sites that you can't ping and seeing how far you get before it times out. This way you can get a good idea of where the problem is.

Some sites don't allow pings. I just tested it and had trouble pinging the sites you mentioned (cnn.com and google.com). I was never able to get through to cnn.com. Pinging google.com gave me mixed results. Those are the two sites you mentioned but you may have tried other sites too. If you haven't, try pinging some other sites (yahoo.com, techguy.org) and see what you get.

I hope this helps.

Well like in title ive got a lot of problems with configuring the wireless network. Sad thing is that ive lost around 30% of packets, ive though that my PC is to far from the router (livebox) which is on 1st floor and im on 2nd but ive got a laptop with windows XP and there is not a single problem with connection, not a single packet loss.

Here is screenie of this ping massacre.

http://img413.imageshack.us/i/beztytuuqt.png/

Maybe someone got a solution? Ive tried the Wireless optimizer already

And yes im using Windows 7.

A:Wireless spiky conenction "Request timed out"

Yea,. my ping times to Google aver 45 ms.

Just for the heck of it, go to Start > Run,. and type cmd. Now type ipconfig /flushdns.

Restart your computer and give it another try.

Are pages sloe to load in your browser?

Computer running extremely slow. Tried to do system restore but getting an error message that says "the creation of a shadow copy has timed out. Try this operation again. (0x81000101) - have tried again several times with no luck, Have read previous threads that say to clear restore points but am afraid that if I do this I will not be able to fix the problem had to begin with as i wont be able to go back to earlier saves. Would like to reinstall windows but the laptop came with it already installed so dont have a hard copy.

Are you running an anti-virus software? If so, disable it before continuing.

Complete the following (taken from here):

Quote:
Verify if these two services are started and running on your computer. If it’s not started, start the services and check if you can create a system restore point.

a) Volume Shadow Copy service
b) Windows backup

Also ensure that their dependency services are running.

You can check this information from services.msc. To do this follow the steps below:

a) Go to start and type services.msc in the search field.
b) Locate the two services.
c) Right-Click on the service one at a time.
d) Select properties.
e) Go to Dependencies Tab.
f) Note the dependency services.
g) Make sure they’re also running.
h) To start a service, right click on it and select start.

You should also try booting up your system in Safe Mode and then trying the System Restore.

I'm finding some strange behavior in windows explorer. If I have afolder open in Details view, right click in the main pane and select Newwindow yet. hi!

i will try to explain my problem the best i can:

every 3-5 minutes or so, the main window that i'm working in (doesn't matter which program im running, but usually firefox/msn messenger, etc..) stops being the "top" window, and instead goes to the background - as if i opened another internet explorer window on top of it.

this "glitch" is always followed by something even more strange - the sound gets cut off, and if i check the meters in volume control i always find the "wave" meter to be on minimum, and i have to put it back in the middle.

WHAT THE HELL???

can you please help?

A:HELP! i get sudden "jumps" between windows as if i pressed alt-tab... ????

Do you have a wireless mouse ?

When I see this, it's because the wireless mouse battery is failing, and the mouse turns on & off, so the cursor jumps around.

Greeting foks. I'm a new user and this is my first post. I'm usually able to resolve problems without help. But this one has stumped me so thought I'd try here.

IE 6.0.2800.1106 (SP1), on Win 98se. All updates applied.

Browsing works fine unless certain buttons are pressed.

Search, Favorites, Media, History buttons cause crash in browseui.dll. Other buttons, Stop, Home, Refresh, Print, Email work with no problems

Link bar is empty and cannot drag URLs to link bar from address bar (though link bar had links before problem started). I can't pinpoint when this problem cropped up.

With "full screen" above buttons all work but still can't drag URLs to link bar. (don't want to use "full screen" all the time; it's anoying). Note: "Full Screen" is the option found under Views, not "Maximize" found when you right click on the window in the task bar. Problem with buttons still occurs when "Maximized".

Have searched Microsoft and the web. Have analyzed results of running Highjackthis, Antivir, spyware, and SFC scans. Have repaired IE 6, and reinstalled.

I suspect that this is a Windows problem rather than an IE problem related to XML processing. But have no problems with any other application.

Ideas would be appreciated.

Hi!

I have a big problem with these dialers. I can't get rid of them! Norton recognise them but fails to delete them. I have manually deleted them but they come back all the time. I have found them at C:\ but norton says they are also in some .dat files in my temp catalog. I've emtied my temp and deleted the .exe in c:\.

My question is where do I get them from? And how do I stop them? Norton doesn't seem to stop it even though I've got norton firewall. I've also updated to sp2 and using mozilla instead of ie.

None of the websites other than Facebook is having this issue. I see the error in Chrome, "Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out." when I try to access https://www.facebook.com. This occurs every now and then, and even if I connect to facebook, the pages load extremely slow.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium, SP 1.

When facebook does not load on Chrome, it doesn't load on other browsers either. I tried running Malwarebytes, Virus scanners, but anything that it has picked up didn't fix this issue.

I've installed adblocker as an extension. I've disabled it, uninstalled it, but that didn't improve the issue. Moreover, I'm not sure why adblocker would affect IE anyway if it's a chrome extension.

Any ideas would be nice. Sorry I'm not familiar with what I need to post in order to get help (computer specs, I'm assuming, but I'm not sure what I need to post). Please let me know.

Thanks,
Jackie

A:Getting "Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out."

This is the exact error I get on Chrome:

Google Chrome could not load the webpage because Welcome to Facebook - Log In, Sign Up or Learn More took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.

Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall's or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the wrench menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.

And none of them work.

Also, on IE, I get just a "Diagnose Connection" error, where they try to fix it and then tell me there's nothing troubleshoot can do.

I have no problems whatsoever connecting to any other website. I only cannot access youtube. I keep getting the error "The connection has timed out" on firefox 4.0.1 and "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" on IE8. I've tried accessing youtube from different connections and even from different countries but the problem remains. I have tried using hotspot shield but kept getting the error "bad port" or something like that.. Other computers on the same networks connect to youtube with no issues.

My OS is Windows 7 (64bit)
I have Avira Anti Vir Home Ed.
Windows firewall is on. I have tried accessing the page with firewall shut off with no success..

Can anyone tell me what might be the problem because this problem is starting to really get on my nerves.
Thanks!

Hi, I recently made some upgrades to a (previously fine) PC - they were

- Installing 4GB extra RAM, of the same variety
- Reinstalling windows on a new SSD (a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB)

I previously also upgraded to Windows 10, but a bunch of blue screens and other issues later I reinstalled 7. I'm still having problems though - the current symptoms are that every so often (1-3 times a day) the computer will hang for ~1-2 minutes on the 'starting windows' screen. When it finally loads, it will often hang for further extended periods before settling down. I checked in these event log and during these periods there will be many 'atapi' errors, with Event ID 11 "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0." (I have attached a screenshot).

There will sometimes be other errors, usually relating to the timeout of certain things, but the previously mentioned error is by far the most prolific. On rare occasions there have been more serious errors - never blue screens since going back to windows 7, but once I booted to a black screen with just a mouse (was able to shut down via task manager then following a restart seemed ok).

Through some investigation, it does seem to be that the root cause of the problem is the SSD; I identified this a while ago and have tried various fixes, including:

Ensuring my Motherboard (a M4A78LT-M) SATA ports are configured in AHCI mode (they were previously IDE). This also led me to completely re-installing windows in an e... Read more

I dont know if this is an Office 2007 problem, but it started to happen after Office 2007 Professional SP1 was installed.

It may be the laptop or the software, i dont know. I have seen this on 2 of my friends laptops. The laptops are identical but there are several more people with this type of laptop which are not experiencing this problem.

The problem: When the user is printing out a document or an e-mail the "numbers of copies" is rapidly increasing without the user doing anything. The user can press the "down" button to stop it, but as soon as he releases it starts again.

Same with selecting printers, the dropdown box goes crazy once its clicked and makes the user only select the top printer, since its impossible to select anything else due to the rapid scrolling.

The same is happening if the user is saving a document, and if the user have several names in the "autocomplete" the namebox just goes crazy and its not possible to select anything.

Recently this problem showed up also in a regular windows window (lets say the controlpanel window). Its not possible to scroll down to see all the icons. once i scrolled it scrolls right back up to the top.

This little thing is very annoying as you may imagine when working with a lot of documents. Have anyone else experienced this problem? or have any suggestions on what this faul "bug?" can be or what i can do about it.

Im very grateful for any help on this matter. Thanks in adv... Read more

I have Windows XP SP3. I'm having kind of a weird problem in my opinion. I'm getting the following error every time I try and access a particular website:

The connection has timed out

The server at www.torn.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I have talked to a few others and apparently the website is working fine for everyone else. I believe the issue started when Firefox auto-updated a few days ago, but I'm not too sure because I just moved across the country and things have been pretty hectic with my new job and all. So, yeah, that's really the only problem I'm experiencing. Let me know what other information would be of use. Thanks in advance....

In Windows XP, fully updated, I have several folders full of mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

But all the figures in the "Duration" column appear to be in "hours" and "minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03", but what I want is "minutes" and "seconds".

Any thoughts as to how to change this?
