Command -p is not working in Windows Admin Center

Q: Command -p is not working in Windows Admin Center

I have installed Windows Admin Center in "dev" mode.
I ran all the commands until the gulp build.
When I am trying to run the command "gulp serve -p 4201", I'm getting an error "Unknown option: '-P' ".
Could someone help me out in this.
Thank You.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello.

Most of my posts are related to the same thing. Long story short, had a BSOD-related problem that has now been solved. Well, my Alienware Command Center software, for some reason, keeps making my UAC pop up. This never happened before and I'm wondering if I should just uninstall it and reinstall it? I'm afraid to do this, however, since I might delete an important feature of my Alienware X51 and I don't want to have to deal with any further problems with this PC.

The UAC prompt pops up, I am asked if the program should make changes to the HDD and then it acts normal. This has never happened before and only comes up when I play a game that can change the profiles of the Alienware light system (APB: Reloaded for example).

I'm running on an admin account in windows xp pro.
When I try to use <WIN - R> key combo for accessing to windows Run Command box, I receive this message

"Restrictions:
This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

If I open the Group Policy Editor and go check in User Configuration > Administration Templates > Start Menu and Task, all items there are "Not Configured" (same for the item called "Remove Run menu from Start Menu"). I also check for all the "NoRun" iterations in registry but am not seeing the culprit if it's there...

I did check the system's health with some tools (SpyBot-S&D, SUPERAntiSpyware, David H. Lipman's and AVZ Antiviral's Toolkit, and NOD32), but nothing obviously nefarious was found.

I am unable to open Command Prompt (Admin). I get the following error: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Perhaps .... ". Does anyone have a solution for this.

A:Command Prompt Admin not opening

This issue is something I?ve only seen when a program or virus managed to corrupt the .exe association in registry causing the user unable to run any programs.
If you have solved this issue on XP the items a bit different on Windows 7. It turns out to be a corrupted .exe association and the reason those steps I taken didn?t work is because the Windows Vista registry location for exe association is different from XP. Obviously using the XP fix cannot work on Vista!
When you have a corrupted exe association, you definitely cannot use any registry editor to fix it because it is impossible to run it in the first place. So here are a few methods you can try:
1. Open the command prompt. Make sure to run it as ?Administrator?. Run command prompt and type assoc.exe=exefile (If you get access denied error, try step 2). If you want to run a file as administrator right click a shortcut to the program and select ?Run as Administrator?. This will normally fix the corrupt exe

2. Download this file called ?Vista-7-fixexe.txt and rename it to ?Vista-7-fixexe.reg?. Some security software will not let you download registry files. If you open the file it?s contents should look like this:
3. Open command prompt and type the following command REG IMPORT vista-7-fixexe.reg. Make sure you?ve already CD to the directory where the .reg file is. (If you have problems getting this to work, try step 4)
4. Download the compiled version of the registry file above and run it.

A:Fyi: Command line values - admin

Using /? as the command-line argument with any command will generally show you all its switches:

IPCONFIG /?
NET /?
NETSH /?
BCDEDIT /?
VSSADMIN /?
CMD /?
FOR /?
...
Have fun

Out of curiosity, why do you believe disabling auto-tuning will speed up torrents or any other transfer speed? Generally, when that's true it means there's a problem with the router(s).

Also, ForcePAE does nothing in this context for Vista and XP. They won't "see" 4.0GB of physical RAM if bits of it are masked by video memory or other devices, irrespective of whether PAE is enabled or not.

when I open up my command prompt and type 'ipconfig' without the ' and press enter it returns the line:
'ipconfig' is nto recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file

I am trying to find out the information I need in order to set up a static IP Address for port forwarding

A:Command Prompt command <ipconfig> not working

In order to set up a static ip address internally, you'll need to either tell your router or your computer not to use automatic DHCP and instead to use a specific IP address.

Quote:
Go to the System Tray (Notification Area)
Click the Network icon
Click 'Open Network and Sharing Center'
Click the 'Change adapter settings'

Selec the connnection for which you'd like to use a static IP
Right click it
Click 'Properties'
Select 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'

Select 'Use the following IP address':

In the 'IP Address' field, insert the IP you'd like to use.

Note: The IP you use must be within the router's list of acceptable IP addresses. It's usually a list between 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.255

If you're trying to set up an external static ip you'll need to pay your isp extra for one.

Hello, I used to use some bat files to shutdown or restart other computers on my network and they worked fine. I cannot figure out why this doesn't work anymore.

Example of the shutdown bat file:

I have programs that can do this also, but it's just buggin' me why it stopped working. Any ideas?

A:Windows shutdown command not working anymore

I am having this same issue. When I open a command prompt and invoke the shutdown command manually it works fine, but I have a backup I run nightly which runs a shutdown after it has finished, and for the past week or so it hasn't been working. The backup log shows that the shutdown command is issued successfully but the computer is always on when I get back to it in the morning.

This began the day I installed a few windows updates, so I'm assuming one of them is the culprit.

I am enjoying Windows 7, but because of some relatively simple disagreements I have with the interface, I've installed litestep as my shell, which I was very comfortable using in previous versions of Windows. Aero and the new and improved task bar just don't cut it for me. The biggest difference I need is hotkeys for starting applications, and from what I've seen Windows 7 doesn't have it. That's fine. Litestep does and that solves my problem.

However, I also prefer to use vim for my text editing, as it's far more powerful than notepad, and I don't need to muck around with the mouse to use it. I usually start it by right-clicking a text file and selecting the "edit with vim" shell extension that was enabled when I installed vim, and then it's all keyboard.

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to edit the access settings when starting vim this way. I want it to run with full administrative access every single time I run it. That's basically all I use it for, other than some idle notes and light coding.

Is there a command-line argument to grant full administrative access to an application, or perhaps a way to grant my user unprompted administrative access? It appears that my user is an administrator, but not really. This new model of security through confirmation is dangerous, but in the case of someone that knows how to use their computer, and how they want it to work, it's just plain annoying.

Can anyone address these concerns?

I have long been a proponent of users working as users and admins working as admins. The administration account on Windows pc's is designed for system administration, the user account is designed for using the system. This was (is) much ignored and many people surf the net and work their financial data whilst logged in as an administrator, with disastrous results. To try and mitigate this social flaw Microsoft introduced the UAC with Windows 7. This has helped a bit... but still nowhere near what is required to protect a machine from unnecessary unwanted software installations. ie: malware.

There are new facts and figures out that show this is still a very good way to mitigate threats to your Windows system, just swap over to a basic user account when you're not administrating your system.

Hi, so here's an odd problem: I have five computers all running Windows 10 that I log into regularly I have the admin login. This morning I noticed that for one of the computers after having been logged in for a few minutes the keyboard stopped working, but the mouse still ok. Throughout the day the same thing happened for all five computers, none of their keyboards are working when logged in as administrator. However if logged in as another user keyboard works fine ?? Another odd thing, when I keep the key pressed down on the keyboard that does not work it will make tick sound in the speakers and display the letter pressed but only after having pressed it enough to normally have caused the character to be typed repeatedly.
Also might be important to notice that all this happened on the same day as my computers told me that windows 10 was ready to have its anniversary upgrade. I now have anniversary upgrades, but no keyboards working. Any suggestions to what is causing this and how it can be fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I have just switched my home computer on and the cut/paste function apparently stopped working overnight, and I have no idea why. I would also like to point out that: the copy/paste command does work (both when I right-click and select copy and paste, and when I resort to the Ctrl + C/V thing). The OS installed on the aforementioned computer is Windows 7, and I've already tried restarting it a few times, but no such luck. Being able to use the Ctrl + X/V is fundamental to me, seeing as sometimes I'm supposed to cut and paste bordered cells with pictures inside on Excel, and by right-clicking cut and paste there's a very good chance it will just cut and paste the image and not the cell as a whole... besides, it's faster and I wanna be able to use it!
I have just subrscibed, so feel free to move my thread to a more suitable forum section if it does not belong here.
Thanks

Hi there folks. I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8 pre-installed. I purchased a Media Center key and all was well. I had to reinstall the operating system using a system restore disk and upgraded to Windows 8.1. When I try the Media Centre key again it says it won't work. It offers no troubleshooting or support help. So I'm turning to you. Any ideas?

I have never used Media Center for anything but i have seen it work before and all and now that i want to access it i can't.

When i start Media Center it starts but screen goes black and you can move through the menu because of the sound but the screen remains black.

The only reason i want to access Media Center is to add my Xbox 360 to the extender so i can watch vongo movies on my xbox 360 without going on the computer.

Can anyone help me out on this problem?

I have a new install of Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 Bit, i5 750 processor, Asus P7P55D Pro motherboard, 8 GB Corsair 1333 Ram, Corsair 850 watt PSU. Everything is working fine except for WMC. I have reset it and reconfigured it several times but it will not play any internet TV or movies, nor will it even log on to Netflix. It does connect to the media saved on my hard drives and will play short news stories. When I try to log onto Netflix I get the Netflix screen and then it will only let me log off of the screen. With internet TV and movies, the menus show up but when I go to play them, a box comes up saying that it is loading, then a message appears saying it is taking too long and I can log off or wait and very soon thereafter I get a box on the lower right that says it cannot connect and my only option is to log off by clicking on an the OK that appears in the box.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get WMC to work on internet TV and Netflix? (I can log on to Netflix using a browser, either IE8 or Chrome.)

The Security Center service will not start. When I try to start it manually, it gives me error 126, which AFAIK means that it can't read the wscsvc.dll file. This file is there in System32 however, so I don't know what the problem is. I ran the System File Checker tool and it claims the dll is clean.

Possibly unrelated: I can't move/copy files into system32 (even as an admin.) Removing files works fine (I accidentally removed the wscsvc.dll file but was able to restore it with the SFC.)
Any help?

I have a Toshiba laptop. Windows 7 operating system. It has a windows "Action Center". I do use the Defender and McAfee.

I was infected a couple of days ago by the Win 7 Security virus. I installed (from a clean computer) and ran the Malwarebytes and Superantispyware over and over again until it was clean.

I noticed my "action Center" seems to not be working. Can't even run the Defender, I get an error message of 0x80070424. I used to get the Windows updates automatically, and that appears to have stopped (although I can manually click "windows update" and get them that way. Oh, and the little white flag that would be in the lower right hand corner is missing (telling me of any problems or messages).

I checked my bitlocker in the services.msc and found it is checked to manual. Is that correct?
What can I do to get this back working? Or am I still infected?

Thanks for any input.

A:Windows 7 Action Center not working?

1) I don't know what "I installed from a clean computer" means, but you need to format the drive and then install the OS

2) Defender and McAfee - not sure which is worse. Yes I am, McAfee - but they are both worthless. Replace McAfee with ANY other anti virus app. Really. And disable the Windows Defender Service - Defender is nothing more than a waste of resources.

Hello all. I apologize if I do this wrong. I am new to this. I also apologize if I am asking a previously posted question. I have read through some responses but they don't directly address my issue, which is: I installed a Win TV 850 tv tuner and it worked great up until this Feb 2009. Then it would not work. I spoke to company and they asked I find disc and reinstall. I did an then now nothing. Not only does tv tuner not work but Windows Media Center won't even start. I keep getting a " Windows has stopped working" message. I can't do anything now. Can some one advise me as what to do to restore WMC and get my tv tuner towork again? thanks Marty

A:Windows Media Center not working

I would start by removing anything Media Center related. Drivers, software, 3rd party apps. Then restart PC then restart Media Center and see if it will start up. If it will start installing the drivers and programs one at a time and testing Media Center every time something is completed. If at anytime it stops working through the reinstall proses you will know right away which of the programs or drivers is the culpert.

I have a file to clear the print spooler when it has an error. I based this file on Brinks tutorial. Thanks Brink. I placed this file in C:\windows\system32 folder so all users would have access. The file must be run in a elevated cmd window. I then created a shortcut to the file and put the shortcut in each users Maintenance folder so they could clear the print Q when needed. In each shortcut I put a check in ADVANCED.......RUN AS ADMIN so the elevated command would be uised when clearing the print Q.
When the shortcut is used to clear the print Q it works fine in the ADMIN user account, all the ADMIN has to do is answer "YES" to the UAC. But the standard users must input the ADMIN PW at the UAC. Obviously, I don't want them to have the PW.
Is there a way for me hard code the PW into either of the files, the batch file or the shortcut, so that the standard user doesn't have to insert the ADMIN PW?

A:Standard user requires admin PW when using elevated command

What if you change the properties of the file in system32 to run as admin, rather than the link in each profile?
