Xp Not Finding Wireless Networks After Mbam Usage!

Q: Xp Not Finding Wireless Networks After Mbam Usage!

Hello all....LONG time visitor/reader....first time poster. This one has me stumped. I have a Gateway laptop...Windows XP home. My computer recently had ANTIVIRUS 2009 after my friend borrowed and got it infected. It was terrible, but it was able to connect to the net still. I downloaded and installed and ran Malwarebytes and it immediately found the rogue program. It finished and I proceeded to remove it with the program. It restarted and poof it was gone. Now, Windows will NOT recognize any wireless networks or connect to any wifi internet connections. The device manager sees that the card is turned on and working properly. My other PC still recognizes the network and connects just fine and dandy. But not the "fixed" laptop. Please help...ANY input will be greatly appreciated and I hope to be fortunate enough to solve this problem. Thanks!

Preferred Solution: Xp Not Finding Wireless Networks After Mbam Usage!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

About a week ago, my power went out, and when it came back on, I still had no internet. After a few calls to my local provider, they had me re-install my network adapters, and I could finally get internet when wired in. The problem is that it wont connect via wireless. I thought it was the router, but since my wife's computer (Vista) can connect via wireless, it has to be something with my computer. Further investigation shows that it wont even recognize any wireless networks. Ive tried a bunch of things like ipconfig/release and /renew, and cleared my DNS cache, but nothing seems to be working. Hopefully someone has seen this before and can help.

Hello there, Beck. Let me welcome you to Seven Forums.

Try to uninstall your Wireless drivers, download them from the Toshiba Site, install them and test again.

Toshiba Support - Homepage

Make sure to select your exact model.

If not, uninstall the drivers, reboot and let windows 7 find its own! that could work too

Silly question, do you have the Wireless on? or is it enabled in the Network Adapters and Connections?

EDIT: use the "Code" option for not making your post too long (code the whole ipconfig /all value) like this:

hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello
hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello
hello hello hello hello hello hello hello hello
The "Code" option is the one with the "#" next to the "YouTube" button.

I am aware of various software tools which can be downloaded and run on a PC in order to find what wireless networks are broadcasting in the immediate area. Naturally, these all require the PC to have a wireless adaptor

Is there anything which can be loaded onto a PC without wireless and then use the wired connection to a router with wireless to use the router to detect other networks?

A:Finding local Wireless networks

what are you trying to achieve here?

a router does not normally detect wireless signals in its normal use

It would need to be configured sa an extender or repeater, most do not have that facility
some routers will act access as a wireless adapter - so you can connect to the PC by ethernet and it will pickup the wireless signals in the area

IS the router you have connected to a broadband connection ?

Most wireless signals are now security enabled - so even if you could detect them you could not use them - is that what you are trying to do - avoid the cost of having your own broadband by piggybacking on someone else's wireless

make and exact model of the router you have

OK; I purchased a refurbished PC Card (Netgear WG511T) for a second laptop. However, when I swapped the card in a laptop that already had an identical card working fine, It failed to find my or any other network in the area. My original card works in both laptops one running WIN98se the other Win 2000. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software (which came with the original PC Card with no change.) Any Ideas? Thank you for any leads you may offer.

I've been having a problem for a while now with my wireless adapter. I know it's not the router because all of my roommates are able to use it fine and I usually can't see the connections at school or any public place.

The problem is that most of the time there will be no networks to connect to according to my computer (connection symbol has an x on it), even though there is. I have upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) to Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit). When I first (clean) installed windows 7 it worked fine for 2-3 weeks but now it rarely can find networks and when it does it may only be for 2 minutes.

I've tried reinstalling windows 7 and it works for a few hours and then goes back to not working properly. I've tried reinstalling the drivers not no success and I've tried upgrading to Intel's specific windows 7 64-bit drivers to no improvements. I've called Dell and their limited technical support couldn't help me.

My Wireless adapter is an:
Intel PRO'Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection on a
Dell Inspiron 1520 with a
Broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated controller newtwork adapter

A:Wireless Adapter Inconsistent at finding networks

Maybe installing the latest driver will help.

You might also need to adjust the security settings per these instructions.

Just bought a new Alienware with Windows 8 and set it up. Of course I'm having a bunch of problems because its me and there was no way I was going to buy a new computer and have everything work the way its supposed to. Despite the fact there are wireless networks nearby and the old laptop I'm typing this message on sees them, the Alienware sees nothing. It says "no networks found" and I have absolutely no idea why this brand new computer doesn't detect any networks but I'm hoping its not a compatibility issue.

This problem happened to occur specifically after I had taken my laptop (HP Pavilion dv5000) to my friend's place & connected to their 4G hotspot.
Then I go home & at first my computer recognizes my network & connects but it's not working out. So I reset the router, as usual, & now my laptop isn't finding ANY networks. Obviously have tried resetting router, laptop, etc. multiple times. Going into the network settings in control panel not offering any help...
What's the dealio?

A:Laptop not finding wireless networks anymore

Hi CoolRanchTaco,
Most laptops have a hardware switch to enable or disable the wireless.  To check this, there is usually an LED indicator for the wireless.  Can you see one on your laptop? I believe on HP laptops the LED shows blue if enabled or orange disabled.
It's been a while since I've seen a HP Pavilion DV5000 but I believe the wireless button just above the keyboard.
Can you confirm this buttons LED is blue ?
If it is orange, pushing the button should enable the wireless and turn the LED blue.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you.

Hi all,

I have the following issue with my HP laptop and I'm hoping someone here has an answer for me

HP pavilion DV7-3120ed will not connect to wlan.

Contains Atheros AR9285 wireless adapter, when I go to network centre and hit adaptersettings (or something similar, my computer is in Dutch, so not sure about the exact English terminology) it tells me the adapter is active, although the HP wireless assistant tells me it is deactivated. HP assistant tells me to activate the adapter by using the switch on the laptop. problem is, the switch isn't working, it's supposed to be either amber or blue, depending on whether the wifi is on or off, but it's neither, it doesn't light up at all.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, I opened up the laptop (warranty expired anyways) to check if the button and wireless card were properly conected, which they are.

I know the Atheros cards are often regarded as rubbish, but it's the best I've got and until an hour or so ago it was working fine with this router. Other appliances, such as this laptop (HP compaq nc6320, running Ubuntu) and my smartphone (android) are connecting fine, but this is an older laptop and I need my Pavilion for work, as this laptop won't handle the necessary software, which is for Windows.

Someone told me to download driver version from link but when I downloaded the driver on a different laptop and used a usb-stick to copy it to the pavilion laptop&#... Read more

Now click on the blue tick mark in the column under your windows version.
This will open another page for that particular adapter and that windows version.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 here, running on Windows Vista, and it will not see any wireless networks. The wireless adaptor is enabled and I have checked this several times to make sure. It will connect perfectly if connected with an ethernet cable in the RJ-45 port so this has slightly confused me. I'm sure there must be a simple fix. Also there seems to be no problems with the network drivers installed (No yellow exclaimation marks or anything). Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance

I have recently had a problem with my computer showing no wireless networks. There are other computers that can log on without a problem (obviously, one which I am using).

It is well noteworthy to mention that a few days ago there was an accidental download that initiated. Trendmicro caught it and says the last virus/malware found is: TROJ_DROPPER from C:\WINDOWS\system32\eventlog.dll.

(I thought trendmicro caught it, and Prevx cleaned my system, but it may be contributing to the problem or has done damage)

Since then, at school, I have noticed my computer was connected to the internet (I could still surf the web) but would say that it was NOT connected. When I went home, my computer would say it detected a wireless network, however, when I clicked on it it would say "no wireless network detected"

I tried a few things including:

1.Uninstalling the Network adaptor
Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN and letting it reinstall on start-up (No luck)

2.running HostXpert

3.and a few other things like, checking to make sure some necessary functions are started such as the wireless zero config. (et al).Click to expand...

I have Toshiba laptop and Win 7. It is brand new laptop and original windows. I tried to install AWUS036H and it was successful but unfortunately adapter doesn't detect any networks. It happened with my old laptop with Win 7(Acer) and I had to reinstall windows fresh and it worked. But I wouldn't like to do it again here. As you may see on picture internal adapter has X in corner and it is working but RTL8187 doesn't, it just says Enabled and nothing happens. No networks detecting. In device manager everything is fine, no yellow icons. Also it is not detected by my ipconfig/all command. The same thing happens in safe mode

Adapter is not broken, it is working on linux. This is image from win 8.1 but it happens on my Win 7

Try this

Download the latest ar956x driver from here:

Release: 2014-07-22 [July '14]
OS: Windows 7 32/64bit
Status: WHQL
File: win7- (2585 KB)

Unzip the package and note the location
Uninstall the driver from the device in Dev mgr, remove software if presented (checkbox or prompt)
then update the driver from within Dev mgr using the unzipped inf file

Some reports on the Qualcom board indicate that you might have success with an earlier version, but I only see then on the site I linked.

Try the newest first , then the 255 (270 was the one the poster on Qualcom complained about)

Maybe the Toshiba site has a version that works. My method is to install the base or original driver from the PC OEM support page and work up if the peripheral board driver doesn't help solve the issue.

I have a silly question. I have a simple wireless network set up here with a linksys router. I didn't have it security-enabled because I didn't know how to do it. My new neighbor said when he was setting up his new wireless network, he "saw" my network and could have tapped into it. Now I have mine security-enabled to prevent that, but I'm wondering how many other people could see my network and might have logged into it. Here's my question -- how did they do that? How do you search for nearby networks? My laptop is wireless ready and wifi enabled, but I haven't the slightest clue on how to do all that. Also, now that I'm behind security, can others still see me and just not be able to access or am I invisible now?

See? I told you I had a silly question.

Hello guys! I just got Windows 8 a week or so ago and I left it on today. I came home and my internet suddenly couldn't find any networks. I googled how to get it back, but when I go to pc settings there is no Wireless tab. I cant turn it on, I've tried reinstalling my wireless card LAN driver, restarting my PC and doing a system restore to the last recommended time, nothing works. Please help me.

A:Suddenly not finding any networks

Could you first try plugging in an ethernet cable and connecting locally? This will determine if it is the OS being unable to connect at all or if it is to do with the wireless NIC.

Does this happen to any other device on the network?

Also could you please try and connect wirelessly in Safe mode with networking to see if there are any third party applications that may be interrupting the connection process. To do so please follow this tutorial (Option Three) - Safe Mode - Start Windows 8 in

Please post back your results

Many Thanks,

A computer at my job has several pieces of adware on it, most notably the Premier Opinion adware. I ran Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner and BitDefender Free twice, but the adware seems to still be present. I am currently running Eset Online Scanner but it seems to crash at about 60%. Resource Monitor says Eset is running normally, but it does not respond and it's GUI elements get a black border around most of them, similar to when a program crashes and the GUI does not respond. When Eset "crashes" it reports 10 infections found. I turned off BitDefender free while Eset was running, since Eset warns of a conflict with it, but that may have caused the problem. I noticed something was wrong when I saw that the search engines AdwC deleted from Chrome were there again at the next scan. Same thing with Mbam, it found more after it had done its Threat Scan. I have every log AdwC and Mbam created.

I had a call from ISP NOC that something was generating 70,000 daily emails but they could not provide further, so I spent a good period of time locating the offending PC, ran Mbam rebooted, ran follow-up scan.. several hours later several items are again found and cleaned, but obiviously not gone.I then ran DDS as instructed and have several times attempted to run GMER with repeated blue screens or scan stops on its own.The only other steps I have taken are to block certain ports on the router to at least stop the SMTP flow of the malware.. a plug in the dam until I can fix the actual problem. Will continue to attempt GMER scan, but could use a leg up on this. +4hr 38min runtime on GMER.. still working through files, but hasn't blown up. Hello everybody.

My computer was working fine yesterday, it showed about 6 Networks and I was able to connect to my own network, D-Link fine. Now after playing a game via game booster I tried to acces Google Chrome and it says "this webpage is not available" I cant acces Skype or steam or anything that requires internet.

I thought I had simply disconnected my self but when I went to check, it shows no networks. I thought this was my connection but then tried other devices "I-Mac, I-Pad, Windows XP Desktop and a DSI" and they all seem to find many networks and connect to D-Link fine.

Has anybody got any ideas about why this might be. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Lee

A:My laptop is not finding any networks when other computer are.

It's hard to say exactly what is causing this problem without looking at your ipconfig/all but running the file below will take care of most internal network problems. If you are still having problems please post your ipconfig/all here please. Just type the command ipconfig/all into an elevated command pompt.

Lets try flushing DNS cache and renewing your IP.

Flush the DNS cache and restore MS's Hosts file ...
Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.

@Echo on
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop. Right click on the flush.bat file to run it as Administrator.

Your computer will reboot itself.

Wow active community here.

Windows Vista home 64 bit
Amd quad core processor
NVIDIA geforce 9600GT

I'll keep it simple:
Few days ago my computer crashed with a bsod (0x0000000a). Kept happening on every attempt to reboot. Finally got in via safemode and ran mbam. It found and removed some trojans but I still couldn't run in normal mode without getting bsods.

Went into msconfig and told comp to boot up with limited services. That finally allowed me to be on the comp with no errors. But obviously with all services shut off i cant do much or access the internet. When I turn the services on and reboot I get more bsods and the cycle happens again. I gather something is up with one, or several, of the config services and that's why my comp functions fine when I disable them all.

Had to do a system restore back to last week and now mbam isn't up to date but like I mentioned, I can't get online to update it cause when I turn on the config services needed for internet in I get a bsod crash.

Services disabled= I can boot up comp and dont crash.
Services enabled = immidiate bsod crash on login

Am posting here fom a cell phone.
How am I going to get online to dl hijackthis, etc and post it here?

Any ideas??

Hey there !

I'm going crazy here, I hope you can help !

For compatibility reasons (running macosX) I have switched my old adapter with an atheros 5B195 in my ACER V5-471.

In Mac Os it looks like it is working but cant find any networks to connect to.
In Windows 8, the OS says the adapter is there and working but unavailable. The wifi appears to be turned off, but there is no way to turn it back ON, either by hitting Fn+F3 or any other technique. I managed to get it ON once or twice with some drivers, but couldnt find any networks either, I turned it off and then couldnt turn it back ON.

The funny thing is that everything is working fine with a live CD of Ubuntu, so I know the adapter is working.

The bluetooth part works fine on the three systems.

The system messages for both Macosx and Windows show the adapter as being here and working fine.

Any suggestion ?

THanks !

Suddenly my Yoga 12 refuses to list all available wifi networks.  It only lists networks that I have used before, like my cellphone hotspot.  It will not list any new networks, like the Panera Bread or the Pete's I just walked into.  I am sitting in a very commercial area, and there should be at least 12-15 networks showing on the list.  But the only one itI can connect to is my cellphone.   And yes, my wifi adapter is up to date, I just updated the driver.  No change.

A:Yoga 12 has stopped finding new wifi networks

Hi Holmes.
I don't have your machine, my only ideas or suggestions are:
1) Try to remove the device (Windows Device Manager) with a right click select "Uninstall" and select "Delete the driver software for this device". After that reinstall the driver againt.
2) Just in case check if getting closer to the router works at all. If moving it improves, maybe it can be something related to the antenna.
3) Maybe you can try something not official approved by Lenovo like finding an update driver for it. For example sometimes I use "DriverEasy" to find newer wifi drivers on my machines. Only use this if you feel confortable installing/uninstalling drivers on your machine.
This is what it cames to my mind right now. Sorry it is not too much.

I was having Wi-fi issues where it was constantly dropping at multiple locations and with a speed test was getting minimal readings. I bought a new Intel 8260 IEEE 802.11ac - Wi-Fi Adapter from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0197W86IE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I Installed and right away speed went up about 20x. Now it will NOT recognize a wi-fi network unless I stand directly next to the router. Then I can move around the house without an issue. My router is broadcasting both 2.4 and 5. All other devices work with no issues. I tried disabling, enabling, updating the driver, rolling back the driver, deleting the old qualcom driver, resetting network settings etc. I can not seem to get anything to get it back to where it was the 1st day I installed. From what I can tell I have tried everything short of a SYSTEM RESTORE. Could this be a disfunctional card? Could I have damaged the card or wire during installation? Could something have become loose?  Anyone with any experience is greatly appreciated. My next step was going to be to open it back up and see of there was a hardware issue. Then my next step was going to be to purchase another. Thanks in advance.

First off, the capitalization of every word is a little annoying just fyi.

Second, try reinstalling drivers for your network card, and make sure your computer is updated. What are you using to monitor the WiFi card? The vista program or a third party program?

This is the third time I've posted for assistance for BSOD's, so sorry to keep bothering you, but luckily I seem to be getting less and less BSOD's each time! I keep getting this one for MBAMSwissArmy.sys however, so as always, I've uploaded the DM collector log file. And as always, I've got no idea what the cause is as MBAM is almost always not running when the BSOD occurs (I don't think it's related, just by chance.) From what I've read as well, it's usually not even MBAM that's the cause, but I still don't really know what's causing these. I think this is the only type of BSOD I've ever gotten in the past 2 months or so though, which is hopefully an improvement.

In fact, I just got another one as I was writing this... And I started writing this because of one, so they seem to be getting more frequent. Either way, thanks for all of your help in the past! I hope we can get this resolved once and for all.. Here's the logs: DM Log File.zip

Have a great day!

Hi All,

Here at work we recently had an access point installed for customer access to the internet. We have had no problems with anyone access the network until today. I am not that knowledgeable with wireless so please forgive me if I fail to give you what you need to help.

D-Link DWL-G700AP Wireless Access point

normally customer just click on connect to networks and their adapter finds the many wireless networks in our area (about 8). They choose our network and type in the network key and they are connected.

We have a customer in this morning (now) that cannot connect.
Here is what I have found:

If you click on the wireless icon, choose connect to any network. You get: "Cannot find any network."

I then setup a connection manually; still does not find networks.

Here is the weird part: If you go into the Control Panel, choose Wireless Config Utility; Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility, Choose site monitor site. It shows a list of the wireless networks and there signal strength. So the wireless adapter is receiving the wireless signals, but will not connect or show them in the list of wireless networks.

I would really appreciate help in figuring out what is keeping this computer from connecting.

A:Wireless adaptor cannot find networks, but shows signal levels in wireless utility

It shows a list of the wireless networks and there signal strength. So the wireless adapter is receiving the wireless signals, but will not connect or show them in the list of wireless networks.Click to expand...

I don't understand "It shows a list of the wireless networks" in the same paragraph with "will not ... show them in the list."

Hi, I have just got an EZCast home multimedia wireless sharing device. It works great from my acer laptop and from my android phone. HTC one! My problem is that it works as an access point so both my phone and my laptop need to connect as clients. when I do this I have no connection to the internet anymore.
I have a great deal with my telecoms provider in Ireland and get umlimited BB over G4 so I use the HTC either in wifi hotspot mode or Bluetooth PAN to connect to the internet on my laptop (and wireless printer).
Either way when I connect to the EZCast access point I have no internet. The phone sees a wireless network and shuts down my mobile data connection and my laptop can only connect to one wireless point at a time. When I do bluetooth tethering and I am connected to the EZCast AP, I can still see that I am connected to the BT PAN but I have no adapter to connect it to so no internet. I tried to bridge the PAN and the WIFI but forums are telling me that you can't do this with Windows 7 anymore. I have noticed that there is a virtual miniport in Windows and I was wondering would it be possible to use this. I know I could buy a USB Wifi dongle and that would be it but it must be possible some other other way. The networks don't havce to talk to eachother. I need to get internet on the laptop and then at the same time be able to connect to my TV via the EZast Wifi. Hope someone can help. It's my first post her so hope I have given enough info.

Hello and welcome Eamonn now I am a tad confused with your rather involved post mate. Now could you simplify it a little to what works with what and what you are actually wanting it to do.

Now I have to ask I assume you have updated all drivers for all the devices??

There is a really good networking member here if I cannot help you out but I will try first.

My internet has been working fine until a few minutes ago, when my connection just vanished.
I went to try and reconnect but my Belkin N Wireless USB adapter could not find any wireless networks to connect to.
While searching for a connection, the light starts blinking like it is searching, but then it says that it can't find any. Also, when I plug in the adapter, a popup comes up saying that there are wireless networks nearby, but when I click it there are still none.

I've tried reinstalling drivers but still nothing. I'm not sure what else to try because I'm afraid I might mess something up even more.

Can somebody add my computer to a wireless network (wpa2-psk secured) without having physical access to my computer?

A:unknown wireless network in manage wireless networks

Hi shayan8891 No, it's not possible for someone to add forcibly add your computer to a wireless network if he doesn't control your computer. What's the name of the network (we'll see if it's specific or generic) and do you recognize the password used for it (you can see it in the Properties of that wireless network)?

Over the last two days, I've noticed that my laptop has been losing it's wi-fi connection. When I open the network connector, none of the local networks, including my own, appear in the list. I've checked that the network adapter is switched on (I've even switched it off for a few seconds and switched it back on), and I've refreshed the list multiple times to no avail. When I restart the computer, my wi-fi connection is restored, but after a few hours it drops again and I have to restart the computer to reconnect. I'd also note that it's most likely not a router or modem problem, as nothing else is losing wi-fi connection (xbox, cell phone, etc.)

Thinking it may have been the result of a virus, I've run a Malwarebytes Scan in Safe Mode. The Scan log is included at the bottom of this post. I thought this may have fixed the problem, but a few hours after restarting the computer, it happened again.

My computer is a TOSHIBA Satellite A305, running Windows Vista Home Premium. If there are any more specific details that you need, please let me know. I greatly appreciate any help I can get with this. As of right now, it's just a minor inconvenience, but I don't want it to end up being something that would shut me down completely.

I own a Gateway C-140 Tablet PC. It originally came with a Integrated Intel® 3945 802.11a/b/g wireless Mini PCI-E card. I did not have great luck dual booting into Linux with it so I purchased a replacement, the Gigabyte GN-WI01GT. The GN-WI01GT has a AR5005 GS Atheros 5th generation chipset.

This new wireless card works great in Linux now however I can not get it to work in Vista Home Premium (i know i know, but its the best OS for a tablet). Seems like I swapped my problems

I have talked with a Gigabyte tech and a Gateway tech.

The gigabyte rep suspected that the device needed to be enabled via a button on the side of the computer. On my tablet the button is using the function key and F2. I tried this and my wireless card was still unable to detect any wireless networks. He checked the driver version ( which was the latest. The device is showing up in the device manager as enabled. Vista says the device is working properly. He also informed me I should not need any separate programs to connect to a wireless network like some manufactures do.

The gateway tech was of no use and basically asked me to check the FN + F2 to enable the device told me it was a 3rd party product and gave me a gateway pay by minute tech line.

Since the new card is functioning in Linux perfectly fine I find it hard to believe that it is something as simple as enabling the wireless using FN + F2 since you would think I would be require to do it in Linux as well before it worked.

A:New Wireless Card, Unable to view Wireless Networks

I came up with a semi solution and a semi diagnosis for this problem. I put BOTH cards in at once putting an antenna on each. I noticed that when I booted into windows that the wireless light showed it was still disabled and in fact it was disabled. I used the FN+F2 key to enable wireless and *POOF* both cards work in vista now.

So my guess is there was sort of hardware check that was disabling power to my wireless or something.

I'm running a Toshiba Satellite L300 with Windows Vista Home Premium x64 and a T6400 processor. I haven't had any connection problems untill now. The problem I'm having now is Windows cannot find any wireless networks. I can connect through a Ethernet cable but not wirelessly. Another thing that bothers me is that I can't enable the network connection in the network connections folder. I don't know why this is happening suddenly as I haven't made any changes involving my network settings at all. I've looked it up on the internet but couldn't find anything that would help me. One solution that looked promising was: no wireless networks were found in range error

That didn't work though because my "event log" service was already set to Automatic so my case must be different. All help is appreciated and thanks a lot.
