I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

I assume you have a B550 AIO computer and not just a 550. I updated your posting's Subject line accordingly.

I'm not an owner of your model, but according to the B550's User Guide you need to total shut down the computer. When powering back up, start tapping the F1 key to enter the BIOS Setup.

Here is a link to that guide for your reference.....

I have had not problems in the past entering the BIOS. Del key does the trick. I am finally looking at Win 10 since the free window is getting close.

When I reboot the Del key will not get me to the BIOS. F2 and F8 do nothing.

I was sure I had hibernate disabled, and according to my research on the problem should also disable fastboot. My understanding is that using fastboot can cause this issue.

There is no hiberfile on any of my drives. I went through power settings, but could not find entries for fastboot or hibernate. I used some methods from sevenforums and nothing changed. I used both the hibernate an fastboot disabling procedures.

I have not found anything else I can try. One errant thought hit me; is MS messing around with < win10 machines to "get them ready for Win 10)? I have seen suggestions they are doing something alond these lines. I have noticed a couple of times in the recent past that my explorer views changed from details to icons without me doing anything I thought might impact that.

One possible change I can think of that would cause this is if secure boot was enabled. I believe that is a "requirement" for Win 10. Although other sources say enabling it is not actually required; simply that the machine has to be capable of it to get a Win 10 sticker on the case.

I am not an expert. Any suggestions (except that I should become an expert )?

A:Can't get to BIOS - goes directly to Win boot

Try using a Win8 recovery CD boot disc which should give you the options to open BIOS instead of going through the recovery process.

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -r -o -f -t 00

A:Restart 8.1 to directly boot to UEFI BIOS

Use the F? key for enter BIOS or the One Time Boot Menu F? key.

I've got an old Dell that I'm trying to get running again but, every time I start it up it goes directly to BIOS. It regonizes my hard drive and all of my other hardware. When I exit out of BIOS it says that I have to replace jumper for settings to be saved. It is now safe to shut down your computer. I have tried booting from a Ubuntu live CD, another harddrive, I've replaced all the cables and I've tried using another power supply. Any help would help because I'm stumped.

When i turned it on today it booted to my 2nd harddrive (which also has an OS installed) went into bios booted from my main harddrive and the computer worked fine for about 20 min. I was browsing the web and microsoft outlook kept trying to open eventually everytime i closed it pop right back up couldnt access taskmanager keyboard couldnt type however i could manuever with the arrow keys. Powered down and when i rebooted had the same problem as before.. wont get past bios setup. I have tried reseting the CMOS jumpers but that didnt have any affect. tried booting with soley; each hard drive (separately), cd rom, and with each stick of memory. All running into the same issue. Hello,I'm trying to clean install Windows 10 on my laptop but I'm having some problems. My laptop is an old Lenovo Z580 i7. Initially it had Windows 8 but then I somehow managed to clean install Windows 10 on it.I said somehow because I'm trying to do the same right now, but I can't manage to do it!The problem is I can't find any way to boot from USB to access to the Windows 10 installer. It's a well known problem with Lenovo Z580 that many people had. When I clean installed a couple of years ago I managed to boot it from the USB, but I tried so many things now and I can't do it!I tried clicking the Lenovo button (which is how it's supposed to work) but nothing happens. I tried to access the BIOS but it doesn't let me go on it, whatever button I press on boot. I tried to reboot from Windows 10 going on Settings -> Recovery, still I can't get to boot via USB.Does anyone have a suggestion about what to do?Thank you.

Hi there, Yuvaraj ?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Power down the machine, remove the AC adapter and battery.
Hold the power button for 30secs and reconnect the AC adapter only then turn the computer ON.

If the machine still doesn't power up normally and boot into Windows then it's likely that something went wrong (could be a bad BIOS flash or an internal component might have gone defective during or after the BIOS update).
Also, check the cable to the SSD and the system board.

Last resort would be, issue with motherboard. I would recommend you to contact Lenovo service center and report your findings. For more details, Schedule a Call-back for faster support.

Update us how it goes.

Hi everybody, I saw many of problems like mine there, but I can't still do anything after several attempts to solve that.  It started two weeks ago.. I did cleaned my hdd, then to keep my device lil a bit update I have updated few drivers. First day, it was able to boot up after 10-15 attempts. (Holding down the power button, disc. battery, ac, reconnect and power button again). Since that time I was unable to get to the BIOS, set Boot order, and I couldn't see even the splash screen. Several days it did the same and the attempts grew up.  Last time it was able to launch, its about 4 days ago, I was watching, film then I felt asleep. When I woke up in the morning, the screen wasn't black but still slighty light(not off, fans were working, cooler was fine). Since that moment I couldn't boot it anymore. I tried reseting CMOS battery, tried to flash bios by using flash disk and Fn+R (laptop did different thing but after 15secs it has turned off).. I think it is frozen BIOS but I haven't clue what to do when I can't simply set the boot order.  Maybe I am wrong and the problem is only in the motherboard. Novo button works but everything I choose there, it ending by black screen again.  Thanks for help, maybe for any solutions how to fix this. I am prepared to buy another motherboard, but if I would be able to repair it on my own, I would happy. Thanks,Jakub.

So I tried updating the BIOS on my Lenovo M92p desktop using Lenovo System Update program. Unfortunately, it didnt work and i ended up with a blank screen. I waited for about 10 minutes and still nothing happened. I decided to hold the power button and had it shut off. After multiple power ons, still no POST. I read the HMM and the section about BIOS boot block recovery. It said I needed to burn an iso file to a CD and also move the CMOS jumper to pins 2 & 3. Since I dont have a cd, I put the bios flash package on a usb drive instead, plugged it into pc, and also moved CMOS jumper to 2 & 3. Computer turns on and there are two beeps. No display. Does this mean I will have to get a CD?

I used Rufus to create a bootable USB and insalled Ubuntu 16.04, after that it seems that Windows got a trojan (I couldn't start programs as admin, rufus itself could not be started and -internet Explorer was failing).  It was necessary to restore Windows using the lenovo partition.  Windows is fine now, but the option to start from an USB is gone from the BIOS, instead there are two options to start with Windows MBR (one of them is the one I re-configured to start Ubuntu, the other one goes directly into Windows), one for Ubuntu and another one for the net.  I need to boot again from a USB (I need to install another Ubuntu), but I can't get the option back.  How do I add it again to the BIOS menu?

I just want to ask what happened to my Lenovo H30 Slim Desktop. When I plug the cord, it automatically turns on.But it can't boot to Windows OS. It keeps restarting. There is no display on the monitor, just restarting.Sometimes, it shows the loading screen, but then again, it will restart. However, can enter BIOS, as if there's nothing wrong (it will not restart, etc.) I recently updated the BIOS before this happened. And I see that on the operating system on the BIOS File, it says Windows 8.1. I tried booting Windows 10 and Windows 7 from USB, but no luck. I've done these things:1. Swapped Memory Modules2. Removed All Peripherals (HDD, Connectors, etc.)3. Configure BIOS on all possible options (Secure Boot Off, EUFI or Non-EUFI, etc.)4. USB Boot (Windows 7, 8.1, 10)5. Clear CMOS (Via Jumper and Battery)What I did was update the BIOS to 2016 version. However, I used the American Megatrends Utility and Unchecked Capsule something, because it makes error, and I can't update. Please view my video.https://youtu.be/IsF__WINsPQ

Hey guys, so I've gotten myself in a bit of a pickle. Ok, long story short, the hard drive in my Lenovo Y50 crashed and started doing the click of death.  Fed up with dealing with Western Digital, I said "screw it" and drove to the nearest computer store and bought a Kingston 480GB SSD (Which I am LOVING so far). However, because the size of the drive was smaller, my recovery USB refused to restore the operating system, so I had to borrow my friends computer, download the media creation tool and do a clean install of Windows 10 that way. Everything was totally fine, then I remembered I had forgotten something really important. Every single back up I've ever done was with Lenovo Onekey Recovery. A program that I did not have anymore. So obviously my next course of action was to get a recovery key from Lenovo. I called the number, explained the situation, and they sent me the key that I got in the mail today. I plugged it in expecting the rest of the road to be filled with puppies and rainbows... but it's not looking that way. Going into BIOS, it does not see the Lenovo Recovery key as a boot option. I've since made my own clean windows 10 recovery drive than can be booted into fine, but it doesnt recognize the lenovo drive as a bootable UEFI device either. Furthermore, it doesn't matter if I set BIOS to UEFI or Legacy Support... it still doesn't recognize the drive either way. The guy on the phone told me he'd have to send me a windows 8.1 key, si... Dear Members,I am in trouble with my  Idea Pad Z570: I bought it couple of years ago running Windows 7. During the years of usage I had no trouble at all. With Windows 10 beeing released, I upgraded and it starts to make a lot of troubles: Bluescreen directly after boot or sign in, no WiFi, ... all the known stuff. So I decided last week to downgrade to Windows 7. But now, I am even in a bigger trouble:I tried to boot the Windows 7 from DVD and it crashed into Bluescreen saying: Windows Error 0xc0000225Restarting is not helping. So, i tried to go into BIOS to boot from another device, but I do not even get to BIOS or UEFI. So, thats a kind of Deadlock: I cannot boot from Harddisk because Windows Error 0xc0000225 appears and I cannot get into BIOS & UEFI because the Windows error 0xc0000225 comes before getting to BIOS. Hope this description of my current situation is understandable and you guys have a lot of ideas how to fix it. Thanks!TheGooner

Hi nikar15 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have the machine number? Check on the machine number from the sticker or check it from here ,just keep your serial number confidential.
Was it previously on Win8.1 ? Did you manage to create a recovery media ?

It would have to power drain the machine by removing the charger , battery and harddrive and to press and hold down the power for 12 seconds.

Without the harddrive and battery , try going to the BIOS by FN + F2 or use the Novo button to start. If you manage to get the BIOS set up screen , go to the Exit Tab and load optimal defaults and save and exit. Turn off and put back the battery and harddrive and check.

Update us how things go.

We have two new Lenovo thinkpad P71, both identical. One of them started to have boot up issue (takes about 2.5 minutes for the first boot up of the day, then any restart during that day will be fine) So, I have been trying to resolve this issue this past couple of days without success. However, I found out that the BIOS version were different on both machine. Both machine requested to update the BIOS after the initial setup. One of them I updated but the other I didn't. The Laptop with the updated BIOS has the version 1.17 (which is odd since the latest version on Lenovo website is 1.16) https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-p-series-laptops/thinkpad-... The laptop that was not updated has the version 1.15 and it does not have the long boot up time issue. So I was wondering if it was normal to have version 1.17? Also, is it possible and should I go back to version 1.15? Any help / tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi All, So we've received a few test models from Lenovo, however, out of the 3 machines this one particular model M91s keeps booting into the bios by default. I've never seen anything like this, the machine has been reimaged, I've reset factory defaults in the bios, changed the primary/automatic/error boot order to ensure hard drive is first etc. The only way I can actually boot into the OS is by spamming F12 and selecting the HDD to boot from. Has anyone seen behaviour like this and how we can turn off boot into bios by default? This one has been listed as problematic for us currently so we're not likely to order any unless we can thoroughly revise a setup solution Thanks, kind regards

Lenovo Ideapad z580 Win10 64 I updated the bios with the private update (I know now that I should have used the public update) Then it showed this menu:http://i.imgur.com/kZaO2tf.jpg Whenever I selected HDD, the screen would go black for a couple of seconds and return to this menu. I fixed it by going into BIOS and changing bootmode from UEFI to Legacy. it booted but now everything is slow. It takes 5 mins to boot up and a further 15 minutes to reach usable speeds (I only have 4 startup programs). I tried changing it back to UEFI and it gives me the same problem as shown in the picture. I tried installing the public update, but it says that I cannot update as the current bios version is the same or newer. I went into BIOS and enabled BIOS back flash, and now when I try to start the public update, it just crashes. I also cannot access the start menu (this problem may be seperate and unrelated) I have backed up files and am prepared to do a clean reinstall of Win10, but I feel this won't work as it's a BIOS issue. The computer is unusably slow: what should I do? Thanks

A:can't access UEFI BIOS and BOOT menu on my lenovo z580

I own a Lenovo G700, and I have heard that Shift + F2 will get you into the BIOS. It might work if all else fails. You can also call Lenovo support or search around a bit more. But in my case I have to use the hardware OneKey Recovery button to access it.
