I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

are these errors occurring out of the blue or do they happen when you run certain things? did you recently install new drivers or updates? posting the full specs of your machine and which operating system would also be helpful.

Go to C:/Windows/Minidumps, zip up a few minidumps and attach them to this thread and then we can try and pinpoint the problem.

Good Day,

I browsed through this forum and found a few threads similar to this so I tried all the suggestions posted. But I'm still stuck.

I have a PC in the office here running x64 with dual Xeon processors with 6GB of RAM. It is used for rendering 3D images.

Below are the last few dumps from System Event Viewer.

Can anyone help me figure out what is causing the errors?

First off let me thank everyone on this forum, I am a long time reader first time poster and your support has been priceless to me and my friends thanks in advance for help with this particular topic.

My friends computer was given to me to fix with a blue screen that read:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A problem has been detected

Check to make sure hard/software is properly installed
Disable newly installed hard/software

I started the computer in safe mode and uninstalled some questionable yahoo type games that she had on her system and ran Norton Anti-virus, PC Bug Doctor, NoAdware, CCleaner, Glary Registry Repair and fixed and deleted all of the appropriate results.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not enough information at this point to help. The error is 0xD1 and they are usually caused by faulty drivers but they also can be caused by faulty or mismatched RAM.

Please give us your hardware system specs including make and model of your motherboard, the make, type and amount of RAM you have installed, video card, etc.

Tell us what antivirus software, etc., you are running along with Operating System.

Lastly, when do these BSODs occur, i.e., randomnly, gaming, watching videos, etc.?

Your error is 0x000000F4: CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION
One of the many processes or threads crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated. As a result, the system can no longer function. Specific causes are many, and often best resolved by a careful history of the problem and the circumstances of the error message. One user, who experienced this on return from Standby mode on Win XP SP2, found the cause was that Windows was installed on a slave drive

The driver citted is crsss.exe and is an important part of your Windows OS.

See this link and read #2 to get some idea f what this driver does: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/csrss/

* It might pay you to do a security scan with your antivirus, etc.

As per auhma.org: 0x0000007F: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

One of three types of problems occurred in kernel-mode: (1) Hardware failures. (2) Software problems. (3) A bound trap (i.e., a condition that the kernel is not allowed to have or intercept). Hardware failures are the most common cause and, of these, memory hardware failures are the most common.

So, 0x7F errors can be due to several things and corrupted memory is the most common. You will need to run MemTest on your RAM www.memtest.org Any errors and you have RAM that needs to be replaced.

How much RAM do you currently have, i.e., sticks? Since Memtest takes a long time and you are with time constraints try this: Take out one stick of RAM and see if that brings stability. If not switch out your RAM sticks.

* When you say you have errors with the minidumps what do you mean? You can zip up to 5 together in compressed format and attach to your posting.

* I strongly suggest you back up all of your hard work just in case.

It has been cleaned of all viruses and spyware. I've used spybot, ad-aware, microsoft antispyware, and numerous virus software.

Hi,

I used a USB memory stick a few days ago, since using that, my laptop is blue screening.
The error reported is "Event 1003, category 102".

I'd like some help if possible please on how I can fix this issue.

I've completed some research and have uploaded the Minidump file which should help.
The file extension was originally "*.dmp", but I had to rename the extension to "*.txt" to allow it to be uploaded.

Thanks guys, appreciate your support.

I have a HP D530, XP, SP3. Here's what I've done:

1) Ran MEMTEST v4 twice, NO errors
2) updated ALL drivers, from NIC, BIOS, video, to chipset
3) reinstalled XP but did NOT format

Machine STILL crashes with BSODs. Before the reinstall I did see 'DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and a 'PFN_LIST_CORRUPT', both which appear to point to RAM problems. I even went back to use the original RAM chips but it continues to crash. Should I attach the .dmp files/crash log as well?

The minimum Passes for Memtest is 7 and the more the better. 0x8E errors are almost always caused by hardware and is a very strong indicator of corrupted memory.

0x4E: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT is possibly the single strongest indicator of corrupted memory though there may be other reasons.

* Rerun memtest over night and check it in the morning. One other thing you can check through the BIOS is to see if the motherboard has set the RAM voltage to the manufacture's specs.

System:
Windows XP Pro SP2
AMD Athlon XP 1800 (1.53 GHz)
512 of ram

My system sometimes restarts and I got this in the event viewer:
Event ID: 1003, Category: 102, Source: System Error
Error code 100000d1, parameter1 00000000, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 f3afec04.
The BSoD error is about "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

I tried to find a solution by reading all the posts that deal with event ID 1003 and HTTP.sys but nobody has the "HTTP!UlIsLowNPPCondition+55" that I've seen in the minidump files...
I've already run a 10 passess Memtest86+ test and there's no RAM error...

So I am appealing to the forum to see if anybody could help/save me.

A:Random restarts - event id 1003

All logs (except 1) go to HTTP.sys
Usually you are also given Error logs in Start > Run > c:\windows\system32\logfiles httperr logs?
You might need to check that out

Also one Minidump went to klif.sys (Kaspersky) But the file mentioned was: NotMyfault.exe (Driver Bug test program)

Since you are trying to "test" your drivers, I would highly recommend you update to SP3 as a better option

Hello,
My server Win2003 OS randomly restarts (1-2 times a day)
I get following error message in Event Viewer:

Source: System Error
Category: (102)
Event ID: 1003

Error code 00000050, parameter1 a2f517fc, parameter2 00000001, parameter3 f61b4fe9, parameter4 00000000.

Can't find any issues with configuration, and i suspect that the reason is a hardware (possibly RAM)

Since i do not know how to read the minidumps - maybe some kind soul will help me figure out the culprit.

Hi,

One of the minidumps has code memory which is the symptom of faulty memory. It coulbd be caused by faulty ram or PSU.

How to find and post your Minidump Files:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files.

It is these files that we need (not the folder). Attach to your next post the five most recent dumps. Notice the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post the next time. You can Zip up to five files per Zip; if you only have one or two you don?t need to zip them, just attach as is. Please do us a favor and don?t Zip each one individually.

A:System Error - Event ID 1003

First, we here at TechSpot strongly recommend all XP users to update to SP 3. Microsoft no longer supports SP2 and from a security point it is essential.

Second, both errors are 0xD1 which are usually caused by faulty drivers. In both files they cite the driver iaStor.sys as the cause of your issues.

This iastor.sys driver is the Intel matrix storage manager driver file; once windows loads it's always running anyways if you have a HDD controller that needs it.

It is a necessary file as it blocks windows from starting up when damaged

It is used to control the SATA disks, usually for raid systems but still used in normal single disk setups as well. It should NOT be removed.

* Update your chipset drivers from your PC build manufacture. Make sure you get your model correct.

Error code: 1000007e - From a newsgroup post: "Turns out it was an errant file from the Sonic MyDVD program that I never use. I found this out because whenever it would crash to the blue screen, it mentioned the file tfsnpool.sys. I did a search for that file, checked the properties and found it was put there by Sonic and had something to do with the drive letter. So I renamed the files, which was probably taking a big chance, deleted everything Sonic related and all is well"Click to expand...

Another cause can be the program called Easy file & folder protector. fdcbnt.sys is the culprit. If you have this, try uninstalling the program and see if that resolved the problem.

So with the information given, these are two possibilities.

Hello,

My machine here at work started recently going through a frequent reboot cycle (maybe once an hour) and also constantly getting an Error Report of "The system as recovered from a serious error". Sometimes, I can click "Don't Send" and 2 seconds later it pops back up. I have run Chkdsk to recover any disk errors (and there were some) but this hasn't resolved the issue.

I was wondering if I could get some help reading the memory dumps? I'm trying to figure out how to interpret these, but so far have not found much. Attached are some of the most recent dumps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A:Help with XP Memory Dump Files (System Error Cat 102 Event ID 1003)

All five minidumps report error 0x00000035: NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS
In theory, this is a driver or other software issue, which encounters a stack problem. In practice, it has historically pointed to a driver problem and also occurs when RAM itself is flawed.

All five point to the same Symantec driver symevent.sys as the cause of your issues.

* This driver appears here a lot and we have lost count of the number of people that have had issues with Symantec/Norton. Your options are the following:

1. Update Symantec

2. Uninstall and reinstall.

3. Completely uninstall and go with much better solutions. If you decide to go this route be aware that Symantec/Norton are notoriously known for leaving remanants of itself behind and causing issues with a system. It is such a problem that Symantec had to create a special Removal Toll for each and every version they have. It is to be used after you do a normal uninstall.

* Also, I strongly suggest for security sake to update to Service Pack 3.

I recently upgraded backup imaging software - Acronis True Image Home 2012. That seems to have been the first error. Acronis support eventually got the install done - though without complete removal of the previous version, according to "Add or Remove Programs". Backups are now enabled but any attempt to restore causes BSOD and reboot.

A:System Error: Cat:(102) Event: 1003 - Blue Screen Error frequently.

At first sight this could be the result of a windows update messing with a driver, or possibly a recent driver update. Have you tried going back on a recent driver update or possible a system restore to see if this cures it? The trouble with intermittent BSDs like this is that it can take an age to check!

It looks to be a hardware problem. Have you added any new hardware lately, e.g. RAM? Any overclocking?

You've also got a Norton file left over. You need to make sure all remnants of Norton are removed.

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below.  Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings.  I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up.  Here are my disks:
Disk 0 on internal SATA 3 connector off an
ASMedia ASM1061 chip on motherboard (internal drive, but enumerated as removable) - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 D: data drive
Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)
Disk (2 or 3 depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 2.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Kingston DT 101 II USB device F: backup thumb drive
Disk (2 or 3 - depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 3.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Seagate BlackArmor DAS35 USB device G: backup external hard drive
There are no symptoms other than another (probably unrelated) disk controller error (shown below).  The controller error is on either drive 2 or 3, but never 0 or 1, so it is one of the external back up drives (the thumb drive or the BlackArmor drive).
Note that on boot up I get the warning for disk 0 above whether or not the external drives are connected so the disk controller error may be unrel... Read more

In the absence of anyone who knows what they are doing, yours truely is trying to overcome a problem with seemingly random restarts on my server PC. Sometimes the server restarts at 12.00 midday but also at other times.
The problem started on 22 Sept, a few hours after the installation of an upgrade to the "Symantec Client Security" small business pack ver 3.0 (this contains 10 license of Symantec Antivisus 9.0.0.338 plus 1 copy of Semantic Service Center v 6.0). This made me very suspicious of the upgrade and I have had since had exhaustive support from them up to the point of them exhausting all the possible problems and pointing me back to Microsoft.
So far I have been in contact with Symantec and Dell (the server PC) and done everything they have advised - all to no effect. Breifly, the list of tasks performed is as follows:-
1) Remove and Reinstall all Symantec software.
2) Update virus definition files & run anti virus scan on the whole PC from safe mode (no viruses found).
3) Change the timing of the AV automatic updates from daily to weekly (Now happens on Sunday).
4) Download and run the Dell 32-bit Diagnostic utility V5061 - all tests pass OK (this includes the memory test, which I see in several other threads, by the way).
5) Install microsoft exchange server SP1 (as advised by Microsoft article 837444). This needed the hotfix 831464. Also installed SP2, which needed the removal of Exchange intelligent message filter program.
6) Downloaded a... Read more

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Ah Symantec strikes again.

Both your minidumps crash at SYMEVENT.SYS. This is the Symantec Event Library.

This is a known issue on some systems/configurations.

Contact Symantec for more info.

If you can`t fix this problem, maybe you should try a different security product.

Hello all,
This error causes my computer to restart with no warning.  Right now, it only happens while I am playing the game Elder Scrolls Online.
Specifically, it only happens when I am in the game and in a dungeon or delve.  It does not happen in the open world.

Nevermind....it just restarted the machine while opening the game right after signing in.  Didn't even make it to the character select screen.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have also completed a memtest for 8 passes and no errors were present (screenshot attached).
I have also tried to swap out the power supply with a Thermaltake 620W and it also restarted when in a dungeon or delve.

My computer randomly has sound issues and computer generally and randomly crashes with BSOD and restarts. I have been looking into the sound issue for some time now and everything points to updating drivers which I have done and still have the issue.

As for the BSOD issue that just started a few weeks ago. I don't know if it is related to the sound issue or not. I have noticed that I have a Event ID 441 Kernal error. Whatever that may mean. I have ran the BSOD program as requested and attached the zip file that was created from it. I hope it has everything you are looking for. If not just ask and I will do my best to get you the info you require.

Thanks

Hi this is my post so I hope I hope I get this all right, sorry if I do something wrong. I'll try and give as much info as I can.

I'm on a custom built PC I built around this time 2 years ago. Not long after owning it I started getting the BSOD errors. They are quite sporadic, sometimes happening a couple of times a day, sometimes not for several days. They also seem to happen when I'm doing a variety of things, sometimes after hours of use doing multiple tasks or playing games, sometimes when I'm just watching a movie or have not long booted the PC.

Because of unrelated issues I replaced the wireless card not long after I got it which didn't fix it. The PSU got really noisy and hot so I got a replacement of the same model (I'm not sure if this temporarily fixed the issue or not, I can't remember).

I ran stress tests on the CPU, GPU and memory (over-night tests if I remember correctly) and it didn't crash during them or show any errors as far as I'm aware.

I then got a new hard drive so I could do a fresh install. I re-installed the OS but it still happened. On this hard drive the errors seem to be less regular but because it never fixed the issue I haven't been on this hard drive for long while so it may just be luck that it isn't crashing as much as the other hard drive and installation.

Here is what it says in the details pop up in the event viewer...

Okay, before I get flamed about this, I do realise that there were posts similar to this one made quite recently. Unfortunately the solutions suggested in these have not worked for me. This is not surprising as the category 102 system error can be the result of quite a number of different things going wrong as I understand it.

Symptoms:
I also experience the blue screen, the restart and discover the category 102 system error in my event logs. This happens every time I place my machine under load (I'm busy stress testing a web application).

Specs:
P4 2.8 Ghz, 512MB Ram, Win XP Pro (SP2)

I've tried:
1. Reading the minidumps by following the instructions posted by cpc2004 in another thread but failed to do so as it kept on complaining about symbols.
2. Running memtest - nothing to report.

I'm attaching my minidumps in the hope that someone will be able to read them and help me out. I'm at my wit's end

Edit: This may or may not be relevant. VMWare was recently installed on the machine.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

3 minidumps crash at vsdatant.sys. This is your Zonealarm firewall. It is known to cause problems on some systems/configurations. They have a bugcheck of C2.

Try updating Zonealarm. if that doesn`t help. Uninstall Zonealarm, and try a different firewall programme, such as the Kerio firewall from HERE

3 minidumps crash at ntkrnlmp.exe. This is a NT Kernel & System file. They have a bugcheck of 50.

It could be that Zonealarm is the cause of all your crashes, so deal with that first, and test your system.

If after doing that you still get BSOD`s, go HERE and follow the instructions.

0x000000C2: BAD_POOL_CALLER

A kernel-mode process or driver incorrectly attempted to perform memory operations. Typically, a faulty driver or buggy software causes this.

0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

Hey guys! I've been scouring the net to see if anyone has a solution to my problem but as of yet, found nothing, and decided to post my problem here.

I recently formatted my PC and reinstalled windows XP Pro SP3 and installed a new graphics card. Now when I play games or am browsing the web, occasionally I will lose connection for 30 seconds to a minute.

In the event viewer I see...

11:42:55
Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 001D7D98D4D0. The following error occurred:
The operation was canceled by the user. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 001D7D98D4D0. The following error occurred:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

11:43:29
Your computer has automatically configured the IP address for the Network Card with network address 001D7D98D4D0. The IP address being used is 169.254.80.6.

When it happens and I'm on the desktop, the little bubble comes up saying a network cable has been unplugged. Is this a problem with my NIC or the ethernet cable? I'm looking for clues here before I do anything costly...cheers.

Yes, it probably is. Use a different cable with the PC or a different computer with the cable to try to determine which.
