I have hardware problem? LivekernelEvent - win32k.sys log, when closing system.

Q: I have hardware problem? LivekernelEvent - win32k.sys log,when closing system.

Have Windows 10 AU UPDATE. When i am clicking close system ( turn off pc ) , system closing fine, pc closing fine. But after that when i boot to Windows 10 it boots fine but event log register livekernelevent: win32k.sys.There was not bluescreen i dont saw a bluescreen. So question. It is related to my hardware or system?

LivekernelEvent - win32k.sys - it is related to hardware issue?

But why i dont saw a bluescreen and windows only report this.

Memtest86 no errors. Games are not crashing. No Bsods,no freezing etc.

Windows 10 ,newest Anniversary update.

PC:6700k stock

Asus Z170-P

Corsair 750

16GB DDR4 Kingston

Gtx 1080 Ti Fe

Maybe a BUG? because it does not display any BSODs or works strange.

Preferred Solution: I have hardware problem? LivekernelEvent - win32k.sys log, when closing system.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

win32k.sys = graphics subsystem.

Where are the links for the other topics about this?

Hello Roebuck and welcome to the Forums,

Please follow the BSOD Posting Instructions and upload the .zip file created so that we can analyze your problem.

The BSoD you are experiencing, Stop Code 0x117, is usually the result of a failing GPU driver, but we can't be sure until we've seen your dump files.

Also, when I look at your system specs, I see that you have "Victoria" listed as your OS? Please correctly fill in your system specs by following this tutorial.
Good luck and keep us updated,
Nommy

Hey people,
some weeks ago I started having this problem when I play an specific game (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive). Few minutes after I start the game the computer freezes, the screen become brown and I have to reset it (since I disabled auto reboot on system failure). My graphics card is relatively new in comparison to the rest of the system. I have one HDD that have a failure (don't remember witch one), that is where the OS and all the programs (except the games) are installed on, the HDD that holds the games is fine. It only happens when I play this specific game. On the Reliability Monitor I get Hardware Error.

PS : I don't use my laptop for playing games anymore. I am using it mostly for browsing and watching HD movies, but all the errors happened when I did the browsing on the net or accessing my iTunes.

My laptop is Alienware M15x, 8GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M (65 W) and I am using the latest driver provided on Dell's page.

Thank you

A:Video Hardware Error - LiveKernelEvent

Hi there,
Here are a few things to try with this error.
1.) make sure all vents on the laptop are clean and clear, there might be a heat build up causing the video to crash.
2.) make sure you check for malware
3.) even tho you have the most current drivers try to uninstall them reboot and reinstall one of the files might have become corrupt.
4.) make sure you have updated your directx files one might have become corrupt.

Try this and let us know.

Hi, this is only happening when my GTX 1080 is being used during gaming or used with BOINC.

The 1080's fans will go to 100% and the screen will go black.

Mouse and keyboard won't work and I have to hold down the power button on the PC and reboot.

It can happen after 1 minute or 1 hour, there is no pattern.

The card is not overheating, MSI afterburner has it at about 60 degrees C.

Windows and NVidia drivers are up to date.

Any suggestions please? Thanks

Everytime I close AIM my computer briefly hangs, then goes to the infamous BSOD, saying that an error in win32k.sys has ocurred, and something about a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

This only started happening after I installed a new Radeon 9800 Pro and has some trouble with the drivers. At the same time, I also had to update the drivers for my Creative Audigy MP3, which has ALWAYS been causing me driver conflicts and errors.

Have any of you guys heard of this problem, or am I alone here?

It usually happens after PC is up for 3-4h and then i close Mozilla (usually the song is still running from YouTube, last time this playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvRV...=RDI2GRCyhvgb8 ;i know id doesn't help but at-least maybe you will enjoy it while looking at my issue ) a weird sounds happens in headphones/speakers and then the "beautiful" blue screen of death; didn't manage to write down the error code but manage to read win32k.sys in front of it.I attached the traces collected with Dialog Collector to this tread.
Note : in the past i had another issue with blue screen with the message ndis.sys but since i installed another network driver for my board that issue was fixed, but this one with win32k.sys can't figure it out

Could you please have a look on it?

Hi.
I've been getting pretty constant BSOD's since I upgraded my mobo, CPU, and GPU. (ASUS to Gigabyte, Intel to AMD, AMD to AMD; respectively)
I've been slowly fixing it with my limited knowledge and Google, and they've lessened somewhat. I've basically just been upgrading drivers and trying to get rid of the old ones.
The biggest change so far has been from yesterday, when I completely uninstalled all AMD components, folders, and registry entries. I then reinstalled with all the newest AMD drivers (chipset too of course). No BSOD's for the rest of the evening yesterday, and none for a few hours this morning, until the newest (which you will see as the only entry for today).

Hoping to finally get this fixed and dealt with once and for all.
Please let me know what I need to do.
Thanks.

Edit: More BSOD's. New one saying it caught a device driver attempting to corrupt the system. I can't recall the stop code now, and I'm on my laptop now so I can't access the minidump for it. The computer also crashed with another 3b win32k 10 minutes after the new one.
I'll go on the computer and add the minidump when someone tries helping. Thanks.

Hi there

I have been having persistent crashing problems with my around-2-month old Dell Studio 540 PC where it will almost daily just randomly crash, sometimes with a BSOD, sometimes just freeze.

Spec:

2.66ghz Intel Quad Core processor
4gb RAM
750gb hard drive
Windows Vista Home Premium

When it freezes, the windows in use (IE, Windows Live Mail etc., nothing out of the ordinary) will remain visible and the mouse and everything will lock up. The music that's on (I use WMP most of the time) will freeze and continue coming out of the speakers as if a scratched record. The only thing to do then is to press the power button to reboot it. It will stay like this, frozen, until I do.

Dell are being typically useless and can't help as the Boot Utitlity and BIOS tests return no errors (is there not more to IT support than running tests? Apparently not.) They can't even decide if it's a hardware or software issue. Chocolate kettles.

When it does return a BSOD, the code I got tonight is:

STOP: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x95F53174, 0x8D0E2C68, 0x00000000)
win32k.sys - Address 95F53174 base at 95E80000, Datestamp 498F9E96)

Now, the only major thing I have changed or installed since it was new is Norton Internet Security 2009, which is patched and up to date, but the only thing different about what runs in the background. The PC came with McAfee preinstalled which I removed as I used to find it hideously slow on my old XP machine. What are the chances of this hav... Read more

A:win32k.sys Blue Screen crashes - Norton Security and/or hardware?

Hi,

Can anyone please please help me with this? Does the fact that whether I get a BSOD or just a lockup, the mouse freezing indicates a hardware problem?

Is it worth uninstalling Norton and seeing if it becomes more stable?

Somewhere I saw an option to restore the PC to Dell factory defaults. Is this worth doing, and installing a different AV product?

Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm in need of figuring out if my laptop was infected by a trojan, the operating system went kapoot and i need to reinstall it, or if its hardware failure. I used it last night and my AVG caught a "small trojan horse" called cryptbase.dll and after removing it i believe is where it began. My computer restarted and ended up starting up with the acer splash with me able to click f2 for setup. But f8 doesn't work and causes a long beeping noise if i leave it alone it goes to a black screen with a underscore blinking at the top left. i've done some research but, im unsure which route to take without taking some advice for my own laptop. My laptop is a Acer Aspire 5741-3541, Windows 7,intel core i5-450 processor, 4 GB DDR memory, 500 GB HDD. if you need more information please ask because im unsure with what is needed to fix the problem. The solutions i've heard is reinstalling windows 7, or it might be a HDD problem. Thank you.

Hi sankaman64,

Can you elaborate on your system: OS - XP Home or Pro and SP1 or SP2? I assume your system is 32-bit? Please confirm!

Also, if you have Automatic Restart checked in the Startup and Recovery window in the System Failure area, i.e. Start>Control Panel>System>System Properties window, select Advanced tab, select Settings in Startup and Recovery area, uncheck it. That will allow the Blue Screen to capture your crash error message in detail.

What is the error message from the Blue Screen in detail?

Plugged a memory card from my camera into my HP Celeron (2.93Ghz) last night (which has a card reader on the front panel). A message popped up off the task bar saying something to the effect that the USB port was drawing too much current and was shutting down. There was a distinct burning resistor smell as this happened. The machine then became unresponsive. I removed the card (which still works fine in the camera and can be read on my laptop) and nothing changed - was still unresponsive.

I had to do a hard reboot. On rebooting, after displaying the Starting XP screen - the screen went blank for 3-4 minutes and then finally a mouse cursor showed up and the boot continuted.

The system now was very sluggish - and looking at Task Manager shows 99% CPU useage by "System" (**not** System Idle). None of the other processes show any significant useage. Killing off processes one by one has no effect - the "system" process continues to use 99% (and can't be killed off..)

I tried setting up to have the disk checked in case it was corrupted - it went through, didn't report any errors found - and the 99% system remains.

Any ideas? I'm thinking of unplugging the USB/card hub from the front panel and then removing it in hardware manager and see if this helps - but if anyone has BTDT before it would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Vista strikes again...

My system information is not recognizing most of the specs. For instance, DXDIAG inserts an "n/a" under System Manufacturer, System Model, BIOS, Processor, and Display Device Manufacturer, Chip Type, and DAC Type, whereas the Windows System Information displays Manufacturer and Model, but not the Processor or Memory. I upgraded the RAM from 512 to 1GB and installed a dedicated GPU (GeForce 7300GS, 512 mem) a while back, so they're not the original stats. I don't have any issues generally running anything, however if I ever contact tech support for a specific program, they are never much help because the DXDIAG report does not contain all the information they require.

Thanks for the help!

I assume it's a hardware error because nothing ever shows up in Event Viewer.

Sometimes when I turn the PC on it boots normally and I can use for usually only a short period of time before it locks up - no response from any keys or mouse, not even cntl/alt/del. Other times the monitor stays dark and I hear what sounds like a fan noise becoming increasingly louder and louder. In both cases I have to hold in the power button to reboot.

Sometimes after it boots correctly, simply letting it sit on the desktop will cause it to freeze. I have gotten it to run a chkdsk at boot - it found no errors, as well as a complete MalwareBytes scan - no errors there either.

I have unplugged and replugged the hard drive and its connections to the motherboard. The fans on the inside of the chassis are working

To make matters worse, I thought it might be a memory problem, so I removed a stick and it began to boot, but then I got the 'The amount of system memory has changed. Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility'. This PC does not have serial ports for the mouse or keyboard - only USB; and the keyboard is non-functional at this stage of the boot process.

I even put the memory back, and am still getting the memory change message.

I really don't know how to get past that.

Hello,

I am having a small BSOD issue. I got my first error last night - stating some issue with my RTKHDA driver - to which, I downloaded and installed the update. (R2.66)

No issues.

Figured, I'd update my video card drivers while I was at it (285.58)- no issues.

Then today, I go to quit playing Left 4 Dead, (I had played Arkham city, Left 4 Dead 2 and Dead Island yesterday and today - no issues whatsoever) - and as soon as I hit quit - Bam! BSOD :

Win32k.sys - System Service Exception

Hoping to get some help in a couple of areas:

1. Figuring out the cause of the BSOD errors
2. Advice on how to identify, and update my drivers as easily as possible
3. Finally, fixing the errors.

I am attaching a copy of each of the mini dump files (2), as well as an updated copy of my dxdiag (txt and xml versions) in order to help facilitate my requests.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should let Windows Update find the drivers for you first. I always update my Nvidia video drivers from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

You should too. As long as you run Windows Update regularly and you see no yellow exclamation points in the device manager, you shouldn't worry about drivers at all. While you are at it, check here for some info and instructions concerning minidumps and BSOD's:

This is my first post on this website, so please be kind.

Hello, lately my TOSHIBA laptop has been acting up, causing BSODs around every 10-20 minutes, especially when i start a game through steam, or any other launcher. I'm barely able to write this post out as a matter of fact.

The problems are apparently also associated with the following systems:
ntoskrnl.exe ACPI.sys win32k.sys

Please tell me if there is any more information I need to provide, I don't know anything about dump files, or anything of that sort. So please try to do the best you can with explaining processes to me.

Thank you!

I've had this crash twice in the past couple weeks. At least, the first one was 03b--not sure if it was win32k.sys, or a system service exception.

I keep my computer on 24x7. I have installed the latest updates from MS.

The first time I was playing Diablo 3. The screen went black and then came back several times over an hour or so. I believe I had quit out of the game entirely, and was maybe opening Chrome, when I got the crash.

The second time a video I was watching with VLC media player just finished, and full screen was going back to windowed mode.

I realize the screen going black most likely indicates a problem with the video card or driver, but it is possible that is a separate issue--I also use the HDMI output on my video card to watch movies and listen to music on my home theater system, and I often see the picture go out and come back there, as well. However, it is only recently that I've seen it happen on my main monitor.

I am overclocking almost all my components, but have had this overclock work stably for 2 years or so now. (Core i7 920 overclocked to 3.9 GHz, video cards (2 GTX 460 1GB cards) overclocked as well, but not terribly much.) The system is stable in all games that I've played, and in various stress tests. I've run memory tests at various points with no errors found, though not recently.

I did recently install beta drivers for my video card as recommended for playing guild was 2, as the latest release drivers aren't working properly ... Read more

Hey guys,

I'm having some issues with a newly built . I've now recieved two (2) 0x03b BSOD's both citing different files as the culprit. I had a previous issue with the system randomly rebooting, but I remedied this by increasing my VTT voltage to 1.15 because I have 16gb of memory.

It ran perfectly after that for about 2 weeks, then the BSOD's started.

They happen randomly, when just web surfing or idle, and they don't seem to be caused by stressing the system.

I was successfully able to run multiple stress tests like Prime95, Intel Burn-In, for 24 hours with no issues, but then will get a BSOD randomly surfing the web or just having the PC be idle.

I've attached my error files and minidump files according the thread stickied, hopefully you guys might be able to point me in the right direction for firguring out the issue.

Thanks!

ASuS P8p67-Deluxe Motherboard.
16gb G.Skill DDR3 Ram
Corsair 750W TX Enthusiast PSU.
Windows 7 X64 Ultimate Retail

My system is not overclocked, all drivers are updated, all windows updated are applied, and BIOS is on the latest firmware.

Temperatures aren't the issue either I don't believe., I've been monitoring them with MSi Afterburner and Realtemp.

Hello,

Recently my system started crashing, entering a state where the displayed image remained static, any sound played stopped (actually, the last 1 second played kept repeating itself over and over) and stopped responding to mouse/keyboard input.
After a couple of crashes like that (where the system would stay indefinitely in this state) BSODs started to appear at ~1minute after the crash, concerning a System Service Exception as displayed on the title.
I'm quite lost, having tried everything I could think of but still having no lead on the cause of the problem though I'm quite sure it isn't hardware oriented since I have a second pc where everything works flawlessly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I get a BSOD that says system service exception, usually when I turn off the PC, or restart, sleep mode but not during games. I have tested the hardware and they are running without errors (hdd-->sentinel, ssd, vga->furmark, volley, proc-->prime 95, ram-->memtest 12 hours 12 cycle), I have ran a virus scan, new config, win7 64bit, but no SP1. Could that be the problem? The auto update is disabled due to one of them making my PC lag. The version of Windows is not original.

Hello, I built this PC about 3 years ago now and it has always been breaking down and failing on me. One of the first issues I had with it was random crashing, which was due to a faulty hard drive. Other issues have been random BSODs and freezing which always occurs. I have replaced the hard drive, tried running without a graphics card (which I am still not using), bought a new CPU cooler and case fans and bought a new case to make sure that heat was not an issue.

My hard drive was making weird noises that didn't sound healthy at all, and I was advised to do a defrag and full chkdsk to fix the problem. I ran the chkdsk overnight, and when it had finished, it had completely destroyed my OS. I had to rebuild the boot.bcd (I can't remember what it was called) in order to access the operating system, and then I decided to just reinstall Windows and format the hard drive because the majority of Windows had corrupted. So, I reinstalled Windows. I installed all my drivers from the websites and all was fine, until I started gett... Read more

Hello,

I have two problems I need assistance with.

FIRST PROBLEM

1) I suddenly can't seem to generate a system health report with Vista. I
keep getting "an error occured while attempting to generate the report".
Before it worked now it does not. I always do a system health report almost
everyday. (I'm obsessed about the well being of my PC). I don't know what
triggered it, but here are some possible reasons I can think of:

A) I recently uninstalled my Mcafee trial software and then installed CA
Internet Security. I then received a series of Blue Screens. I quickly
uninstalled CA Internet Security and used Zone Alarm Free Firewall and AVG
antivirus. The operating system seems to be stable now (I haven't got a Blue
Screen since).

B) On July 25, 2007, I installed a recent update to Windows Vista. The
update is KB929547. (http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=929547).
Could this have something to do with it?

Some things I did to attempt fixing this problem myself include doing a
start up repair (using the F8 key before Windows loads). No problems found. I
did a Windows Memory test while I was there in the boot options. No problems
detected. I checked the hard drive for errors. No bad files and only a few
reparsed records.

The problem still exists.

SECOND PROBLEM

2) I was doing some snooping in the "System Information" section. Under

The first thing I'd try is just doing a System Restore to a date when you know it worked. Run rstrui.exe

You can also test the issue in Safe Mode.

If not possible, look in the Event Viewer (run evenvtvwr.msc and see if you can get any further information there.

I have no idea what that device is -- if you look in the Device Manager, do you see anything flagged there? Run devmgmt.msc

Diagnostic Test

 RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

Help: LiveKernelEvent

Hello everybody,
thank you for taking the time to look at my problem (I wasnt definate which forum it should go into, so apologies if I have the wrong one).

Okay, I have been having alot of problems with my computer recently and the history of it goes back a fair while, so I will do my best to explain the problem and will post my spec at the end of the post (please feel free to ask for any additional information as I am not great with computers).

Originally the problem started around nine months ago, when i started to recieve this error message "Display driver atikmdag has stopped responding and successfully recovered". After trawling through the internet and trying dozens of fixes, I upgraded my ram which seemed to fix the problem. Recently however I bought a game called Starcaft II and the problem returned. My first response was to update the ati drivers however this did not fix the problem and if anything it has become worse. When I used to recieve the "Atikmdag" error, my computer would freeze for a moment, the screen would then go black for about 5 seconds and then catch up with itself. Now however my computer is completely crashing, Ctrl + Alt + Del does not work, so I have to manually restart the computer. (Strangely when I originally bought Starcraft II, the game didnt really have any problems, except for the very occasional Atikmdag error, now however I can play for around 8 minutes and it will freeze).

From the Windows Debugging Tools Help file:Bug Check 0x117: VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTEDThe VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED bug check has a value of 0x00000117. This indicates that the display driver failed to respond in a timely fashion. It would appear that something is interfering with a driver in kernel mode (most likely the video driver). Hi,

I got a slight shock when I did a scan with AVG today and found what's stated in the title above. See attached pictures of log from AVG:

http://imgur.com/a/PLKzE

After google failing to give me a good answer (mainly a lot of "blogs" recommending downloading anti spyware-something something and delete some winreg entries), I tried to locate all files named win32k.sys and uploading them to virustotal.com. Think I uploaded about 6-9 now, with no threats detected.

I don't have any funny or odd looking services running in task manager as far as I've can tell (checked off show all users and googled some of the processes). My CPU-usage as I write this is between 2-10 %, staying mostly around 2-4 %.

That is how far I got on my own, and to be honest I'm a bit lost now. I suspect that this is a false positive. At the same time, if I'm wrong, inline hook seems like some nasty business. Also I'm confused by the "part of operating system".

For information, the ESEA client is a 3rd party client used to play Counter-strike: Global Offensive. It's a really intrusive anti cheat, and has been known to get detected as malware/trojan/virus by other anti virus programs.

Please note that the 2nd detection, ESEA, only appeared after i ran CCleaner (and did a re-scan in the hope that inline hook would go away).

So my question is, should I not worry about this? Or should i dig deeper? I apologize if I miss any information needed. ... Read more

Hi ddrz Personally for me, you answered your own question. For information, the ESEA client is a 3rd party client used to play Counter-strike: Global Offensive. It's a really intrusive anti cheat, and has been known to get detected as malware/trojan/virus by other anti virus programs.Take a look at the thread below.https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1r2uca/how_to_uninstall_esea_client_remove_kernal_driver/ESEA is indeed knowns to use very, very intrusive methods to prevent you from cheating on CS:GO, so it doesn't surprise me that AVG would detect it as being malicious. If I didn't know what ESEA is and how it works, I would suspect it of being malicious as well.Is it possible for you to upload the file below to VirusTotal and post the URL to the results here?C:\Users\$USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\ESEADriver2.sys

I seem to be having this problem with a rootkit. The rootkit in question is actually a file that AVG claims is "hidden". avast!, SUPERAntispyware and malwarebytes do not seem to detect it. I have tried formatting the disc using the TOSHIBA recovery disc I created. the rootkit is still there.

Attatched is the AVG scan log.

However I don't understand how I got it. I have COMODO Free Firewall, AVG Free, avast! Free, SUPERAntispyware Free, Malwarebytes Anti Malware and IObit Malware Fighter Free.

Thanks in advance

Keep and run 1 A/V only ( even A/Vs which are not running real time can cause conflicts)
Run either a HIPPS or a BB, but not both for the same reason.
You can have a few on demand only malware scanners, but not active.
Surf from a SUA account only.
Sandboxie is your friend.
I think that file is a part of windows ( not bad )

I had this computer built with a generic brand power supply. I had major problems with BSOD when playing games, but normally when playing games only. I assumed it was the PSU so I replaced it with a Corsair 750 WATT 80 Plus Gold RM750x. For two months I went by without a single incident. But starting two weeks ago I had two random events. One when just on my desktop, and another shortly after I jumped into GTA V later that day, assuming it was just another random event, not related to the game.

I went two weeks without issue since. But the last two days I ran into two more instances of a BSOD. These are random and, not when doing any real task. One I was AFK and came back to my computer to see Windows loading up again.

The instance from yesterday showed a long list of "Hardware Failures" on the Reliability history, though they all seemed to be the same of "Two" different messages.

I got BSOD when I install windows, , thinking it might be a ram problem I ran memtest for 5 hours and it doesn't shows any sign of error. Made a hdd utility chk no problem found as well.

So i kept on reinstalling all the drivers I got, the computer shows BSOD when it is in very heavy usage. Recently I ran 3Dmark05 on my computer it shows BSOD as well but without any minidump.

Also I am using a logitech MX 500 mouse with the latest driver installed when I turn the wheel it crashes also, this makes me wondering is there problem with my USB port.

this is my computer configuration
I'm dual booting linux and windows as welll
athlon xp 2600+

A:BSOD by win32k.sys & ati2cqag.dll ram problem ?

Hi,

Your windows is crashed with various bugcheck code. I believe that it is hardware error. Probably it is faulty memory such as memory modules, Level 2 (L2) SRAM cache, or video adapter RAM.

Suggestion
1. Some faulty can pass memtest. Try reseat the ram. Downclock the ram
2. Downclock the CPU
3. Faulty m/b or video card
4. Make sure your PSU has adequate power to support all the peripheral including USB device.
5. Upgrade BIOS

I am having an issue with my home desktop. It has Windows XP Professional sp2 or sp3 loaded (I can't remember exactly). The computer will not load properly. When it boots up, it automatically goes to the Windows Advanced Startup mode screen and displays the following message:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose Last Known Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.

If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the Power or Reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows Normally"

I tried to load Windows in each of the options but when I do so, the Windows load screen will come up followed by a blue error screen and then the PC will reboot. The blue error screen says the following:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: win32k.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart you computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask you... Read more

A:Windows XP Pro will not boot - win32k.sys problem

As you can see, STOP 50 errors are difficult to troubleshoot.

I tend to associate this type of error message with malware, but that's just my personal quirk...it's not documentad by anything .

hi. some games (source games) have crashed at random times during the game (= no heat issues). the screen freezes, stripes appear which distort the image and force me to restart the system. the microsoft windows files report BSOD 116 and LiveKernelEvent 117. the mindump files state the code 0x100000ea THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER. ive contacted the microsoft support who pointed out these files (according to sysinternals):
- rdpclip: not found
- cpuz 134: not found
- lp In lp: not founf
- nwlnkFlt /nwlnkFwd: not found_
- BVTConsumer: not found
ive tried different settings, launch options, drivers (acer original, ati 13.9 latest driver offered by ati, 13.1, 13.1) and intel drivers, updating windows and directx and i already did a sfc scan (which couldnt fix the corrupted files; cant access the cbs files) on the current fresh windows installation with all updates but the problem persists. ive run the system update readiness tool which seems to have fixed some files since the start up is a lot faster now and it runs smoother.

i cant access the log files (cbs etc.) which prevents me from uploading them but ive uploaded a sfcdetails.txt file.

your help is HIGHLY appreciated
