I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,

I appear to be having trouble with my firefox browser.

My operating system is Windows 8.1. I have an Acer Aspire V3-772G which I bought some 18 months ago.

System details:

Processor: Intel® Core i7-4202MQ 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz
Installed Memory (RAM) 16.00 GB DDR3 L Memory
System  type: 64-bit Operating, x64- based processor

A few days ago my firefox browser, which for no apparent reason at all, just seemed to slow to a stupendously very slow loading of pages. I had recently just been working on an issue in which I posted a thread regarding whether there was a possible virus/malware after google chrome terminated with the following message from Hitman Pro Alert:

Attack Intercepted
'Google Chrome 49' has been terminated to prevent execution of malicious code. Please check your computer for malware and software updates

As it happened, it appeared to be because of a conflict somewhere in the Google Chrome, Trusteer Rapport and Hitman Pro Alert combination, and so the only way was to change the settings on Hitman Pro Alert as advised and shown in my thread:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/611273/possible-virus-or-malaware/

However, there was no malware or virus detected by my own Avast or Malwareware bytes tools, and the tools used as instructed in the thread also showed my system to have none. Also, google chrome works fine, and my computer has not slowed in any way. My fir... Read more

Hi newbie here so go easy on me

My mum has a realtively newly built PC (about 2 weeks old), and has XP Professional installed along with Norton Antivirus 2003.

She is using dial-up internet with an external modem, and although her default homepage (bbc) loads straight away after that browsing becomes progressively slower and slower. Some pages do not load up at all after a while and she is forced to turn off her connection and try again. She cannot access any secure sites at all (for her internet banking and buying things). She has cleared her cache to no avail.

I have been told to see if a firewall is blocking secure ports 443, 84 and/or 8443. I'm not sure how to check that? I'm not even sure she has a firewall installed at all?

Should she try Mozilla Firefox? Should I install Norton?

I've checked her dialup internet provided (lineone/tiscali) and there appears to be no problems?

Okay, here I am again. I've already posted regarding this problem, but I thought I had it fixed when I restored my computer to factory settings. No such luck, the problem has returned. This time I will be more specific about what is going on. I can not access any microsoft web pages, I can not update, I can't access my hotmail account, can't use messenger (kids are going crazy without it). I have had norton installed and ran a scan, no problems detected. Now i uninstalled it. Please let me know what to do now. I personally think it has something to do with Messenger not being compatible with Vista, so for now I've uninstalled Messenger also. What are some good free virus and spyware programs that I can run? Here is my current Hijack log.

Hi I was just wondering if someone could help me out here.
During websurfing I've found that some of the websites I try to surf take an extremely long time to load. Its not my internet connection but I believe it is the type of programming used at that website. An example is the official San Jose Sharks web page. It easily takes up 30 secs to load. This load time occurs even after I've loaded it once, minimized the window than maximize it. It still takes 30 secs again. Does anybody know how to fix this problem, cause right now I've just stopped going to these types of sites.
Thanks

I recently bought a new laptop, and it was horribly laggy when I played games. I did everything I could to improve the performance speed for it (uninstalled programs I didn't need, deleted unwanted files, Disk Clean Up, scanned Disk for errors, Disk defragment, scanned for spyware/adware/viruses, clean registry, blocked some programs from starting when Vista is turned on). The games stopped lagging, but now when I browse the internet on IE or Firefox, the webpages loads very slowly. Some programs won't start, like my Gunbound Revolution game. I clicked on the GBR game and it opens up a IE window to the page for me to log in. When I log in, I click "Play Live" to start the game. The "Unidentified Program" window pops up and I click allow, but the game never starts. What can I do to fix these problems?

My computer specs are

A:Slow Loading Pages

Try running IE7 in no add-ins mode.If no add-ons mode fixes your problem, then you are going to have to try and work out what third party product is causing your problem by disabling one add-on at a time, restarting IE, then testing. If disabling one doesn't work, re-enable it, restart IE, and try the next one. You can also have a look at this article called Help! My computer is slow!

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
Click " Configure Scan Options"
Select " Run Add ONs" and then select ALL the options in the box below it, Press Apply
Now Click "Start Scan"
It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
Once the Scan is Complete
Reboot back to Normal Mode!
Go to the WinPFind folder
Locate WinPFind.txt
Place those results in the next post!. It will be too big to post so you will need to attach it to your reply

Its quite probably nothing your end. It may well be a problem at CS server end. Have you tried calling them and discussing the problem?
I advise you give their customer services dept a call first, rather than the tech help number , as the tech numbers are usually quite expensive, and the Cust Serv might be able to tell you first if there has been a reported prob their end.
Good luck

Hi

A friend of mine's problem started recently when they had a fake malware warning message. They ran a stopzilla anti spyware scan and without buying the product the message has disappeared. However their internet connection remains very slow.

I attach a HijackThis log in case there is anything obvious i should remove for them. Would appreciate some assurance everything is ok.

I have the same problem: Slow loading pages. In fact, new pages often time out. I'm on a (confirmed) 2 Mbps Download connection. I've cleared caches, tried multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome, MSIE), and changed Anti Virus applications. Windows Firewall is enabled, but I have the same problem when it's disabled. One other quirky clue: some web pages are drawn with only the HTML. No CSS is used. I suspect that's just a result of the slow download. Bottom Line: SOME thing is getting in the way of my web pages loading. Any advice would be appreciated.

You are connected directly to the Motorola Surfboard modem? By ethernet or USB?

You've confirmed your actual download speed with Speedtest.net or similar, right?

Can you try another computer on your connection or your computer on a different network?

I had been complaining of excessively slow loading of pages with Explorer and changed to Firefox and saw instant improvement in speed. Now, a few days into using Firefox, things have now slowed down with it as well. What can be going on behind the scenes to contribute to this slow loading of pages? Any ideas

A:slow loading of web pages again

2 basics things come to mind, not enough RAM in the computer and/or your Internet connection?

How much RAM do you have? I see possibly have WinXP, I will not run it without at least 512 MB of RAM.
What type of internet connection do you have?

Try pinging the web page you are downloading or your providers web page when things slow down. If the ping times are erratic and more than 200 ms then you have some issues with your Internet connection.

Also try a download speed test when the downloads are good and when they are bad. This will give you a comparison. Here are a few good links for the speed tests:

Hi, I'm having a few problems with my internet. Ive got a Toshiba Satellite A210-11P running windows vista.

When I try to load up a web page it takes about 10 seconds to load, but then its fine goin from page to page once on. I've reset all internet settings and tried it without Norton 360 on. I have tried this with IE8 & Safari. This problem does not happen if I connect to my neighbours internet. I have just done a line test and am downloading at 16273 kbps and uploading at 862kbps.

Also, when I tried to update iTunes on home internet it said that it woulkd take hours to download, but when connected to neighbours it only took 15 mins. I have tested this by downloading large files and has the same result.

Any ideas??????????

Thanks

assuming your temp files are clean, cache, along with your computer not having spyware and or viruses..
it might be your provider being overloaded at peak times.

Hello! I'm running Windows 7 for a couple of months, and recently none of my browsers will work normally. The connection often time outs, dns fails or it loads the page but with nothing but text (Some pages load, and the ones that don't load, work after refreshing the page a couple of times) . My main browser is chrome and it's version is the latest (19.0.1084.52), and the addons I have installed are: AdBlock, Facebook chat sidebar disabler and Google mail checker. My internet works fine, and the speeds are normal(Btw i get 50-200ms ping. Is that normal?). Browsing on my iPad works perfectly, so it must be something with my computer. I've tried virus/spy program scan, and cleared them, but still no improvement. What can I do?

A:All browser slow/not loading pages

You can try resetting winsock and the network stack, when browsers won't load pages this will sometimes fix the problems though it could be a virus, adware, or spyware causing this.

To reset winsock, flush DNS, reset IP stack etc. Save the file below, unzip and click on it then let it run until you machine reboots and see if your browser works any better.

Hi all: Got a new HP pavillion laptop with win 8. upgraded to 8.1 and downloaded Chrome browser. Everything worked as it should. Sometime about a month or so ago, I started having issues with some websites including this one. The little circle keeps going around but the page doesn't display. Sometimes I can stop the page and it will then display other times a page refresh will do the trick. sometimes nothing helps except waiting for a long time, usually several minutes. Other pages will load normally. Tried ie and firefox with same result. Tried uninstall and reinstall chrome, no change. My wifes laptop works ok with same os. We are on Xplornet satellite internet so have latency issues but this is not the root cause of my problem as I have the same issues when on Fibe or cable! Any ideas appreciated. Dan

Been having the issue of a few website pages literally taking up to 5 minutes (or longer) to load since about a month or so ago. This happens most of the time, but occassionally these web pages load a bit quicker (maybe 30 seconds or so).

Apart from a few minor system utility installations, there have been no other changes or installations of programs.

Most web sites load relatively quickly, but just a few sites take a long time to load. Bleeping Computer is one of those slow loading sites.

This slow web page loading seems to occur primarily for websites with forums (which have very little web page content; it is mostly text), so, in theory, the pages should load quickly.

Also have problem posting new topics and responding to existing topics. Frequently my topic/reply does not seem to take and is not shown after the web page reloads automatically. I have to re-enter my text and re-submit it before it is eventually shown on the web page. This happened for this topic. At my first attempt at posting this topic the main page just loaded and my topic didn't appear!?

I'm on a dial-up connection which doesn't help. But while waiting for web pages to load there is very little actual data transfer occuring or there is no data being transferred. Maybe only a few tens of bytes per second is being transferred instead of the usual 5 kilo byte per second download. There seems to be something restricting/stopping data transfer(?)

Hi,
I have a dual core laptop with 2 GB RAM. I share my internet connection with another computer thru a router. There is a huge delay when the pages are loaded on my web browsers. I tried IE7, firefox, netscape, opera and a few other browsers. My connection is not slow at all (download speeds are usually around 500 kbps). Once i click on a link, or type an address, it takes a long time to open, and in the status bar, it shows "Looking up <web address>" for a long time before it changes to "connecting". I even compared it with the other computer on the same network, and its really quick.

What could the problem be?

PS: oh yeah, i use windows firewall, same as the computer i compared it with.

I've used your site several times in the past, and am in need once again! I can usually clear most things on my own, but this one is making me nuts.

I have a Dell Dimension 3100, running Windows XP, SP3. I've noticed in the last couple weeks that my pages load much slower than usual and sometimes not at all. And in the last few days, I've started getting the about:blank pages....sometimes 5-10 at a time will open on their own.

I just updated my AVGfree to 9.0....ran a full scan with that....nothing was found. I also ran Super Antispyware and only a couple minor things were found. But, I feel that this is getting worse as each day goes on....don't want a repeat of what I had many months ago!

Can you please help? Here is a Hijack log that I just ran.

Please give me some time to look over your computer's log(s).

Also, even if things appear to be running better, there is no guarantee that everything is finished. Please continue to check this forum post in order to ensure we get your system completely clean. We do not want to clean you part-way up, only to have the system re-infect itself. :)

I am my wits end, all my searches has not picked up anything relevant enough?

By ?Slow? I mean from 20-30 seconds to X minutes, or never...

WIN 8.1.0 STD with IE 11 ? and Chrome - under Classic Shell on HP/Compaq Desktop 100 (1,48/8GB)
F-Secure 1.99. When disabled for testing, no change
Connected to:
Netgear Genie WNA 1100 Wireless USB adapter (Reports 150 Mbps)
Connected to:
Gigabyte Aircruiser Ultra N Router GN-BR32L-RH (WPA2-PSK)
Cable Connected to:
ISP Cable modem 50/10 connection. Speedtest from ISP/Authority show normal result.

Same setup OK under previous XP machine with IE 10 ? and Chrome.

Hope for fresh insight.

Rgds
By the way: IE 11 do not render most web pages correctly either, switching to Chrome where necessary. Next problem?.

Half is the router is the issue. The other is you never stated what Cable modem you are using.

Dear Friends,

I am in need of urgent help with my office's network. The problem is when accesing our admin website we get an intermitent slow loading of pages. This is usually fixed by multiple refreshes of the browser. Sometimes the browser just goes into a none responding state all together.

I have been trying to analyse all the compenent of our office network to see what is going wrong but no luck.

Here is what our network topology consits of:

Internet -> Draytek Vigor 120 Modem -> Draytek Vigor 2950 Router -> Cyberoam Firewall -> Netgear Switch -> SBS 2003 Server -> Local PCs

Our staff use roaming profiles on the machine they are sat at.

I currently have cyberoam support staff looking at the firewall rules too see if it is anything to do with that, but so far they have found nothing.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Alex

try a ping test to check for high latency. Have you power cycled all devices?

The browser seems to get slower and slower--pages are taking forever to load, and I'm getting thrown offline after 10 minutes or so. Everyday I delete temp internet files, including offline content. Windows 98, IE 5, MSN 5.

I've had Comcast out twice in the last two weeks trying to see what's wrong with my system. The tech says it's my computer. Although after running a speed test, I found my upstream level was running high. He adjusted that, but no change in the way pages are loading (or not loading I should say).

I am suddenly experiencing slow loading of pages from the Internet.
I am using DSL and have not had any problems until the last day or so.
I have a really slow experience when the page has pictures or graphics. I keep getting messages saying that there are xx
number of items still to be loaded.
If I hit the "Stop" button, the loading stops, but pictures, etc are not there.
I was searching around and looked at Tools>Internet Options>Settings>View Objects and saw that "Java Runtime Environment" was listed as damaged with no Kb's. Could this be the problem? Do I have to reinstall this, and, if do, how?
I recently was going to download an MP3 player, but changed my mind when I realized it was bundled with a lot of Gator spyware.
I deleted it and all Gator Wurld items I could find. Could this have caused my problems?
